Everything was so fresh: the taiyaki's were being made on the spot. Plenty of ice cream options: matcha, horchata, pistachio, vanilla, and flavors rotated to keep the menu fresh.
Can also choose what type of filling, if any, is desired in the taiyaki, from Nutella to custard, fudge to red bean.
Do you want to eat from the taiyaki? Or do you prefer a bowl with the taiyaki over the top?
We had four orders: Pineapple ice cream (non-dairy) served in a taiyaki Matcha ice cream served in a bowl with taiyaki on top Pistachio ice cream served in a bowl with taiyaki on top Horchata and matcha ice cream served in a bowl with taiyaki on top
There are also beverage options. The Citron uses a homemade citron marmalade / syrup that was phenomenal! Asked about the Hokkaido milk tea and difference from the regular milk tea. Great instructional moment!
Thank you, Break the Ice team and family. You made a first visit memorable. Looking forward...
ย ย ย Read moreCanโt say enough of this wonderful specialized ice cream parlor. We used to visit similar places that serve taiyaki and boba teas in Orange County. And now we are so happy that we have such a place so close to home in the Canyon Crest shopping center, our favorite shopping area. This is a wonderful addition to a wonderful and homey family center in a peaceful area. First of all the service is always friendly as everyone greets you with smiles, no matter how many people are in line. The taiyakis with filling or with ice cream are so delicious. And the boba teas are very reasonable priced compared to other places. Their pricing already includes the topping and they offer a variety of boba teas. We have come here time and again as a family (and alone when I get a craving!). I would surely recommend this place for a wonderful treat for the whole family. Seating area outside provided by the Canyon Crest center is very pleasant for the...
ย ย ย Read moreWe ordered the vanilla soft serve and the Taiyaki with a cookies and cream filling. I lover the mochi consistency and flavor of the Taiyaki. It was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. If you are comparing it to Somi Somi these were a little bit smaller but the standard order is 2 Taiyaki for about $5. I think it was definitely worth it and even easier to share over a cup of soft serve. The soft serve itself was also very good. The vanilla is more like a vanilla bean :) itโs somehow both creamy and icy soft serve at the same time. Inside is super cute and clean. Even with a line to the door we received our order very quickly. I will definitely be back! Glad thereโs is a place to get Taiyaki close...
