Crest Cafe — Restaurant in Riverside

I had a horrible experience at this restaurant today. It was two of us and we arrived at 11am. The business was slow for a Wednesday morning. We were seated outside (our choice). For it to be a slow day and only about 3 tables being occupied I’m not really sure what the delay was in service. It took a while for us to receive our drinks. We were sitting looking over the menu and still no one came to take our order/drinks.

Once the food did arrive, my order was incorrect not what I had ordered. I sent it back to be fixed and the food was very bland as well. We asked to speaker to a manager due to the poor service we’ve received and the employee made up a LIE saying “the manager isn’t here she went to the store and hasn’t been back for 2 hours”. Then another employee comes outside right after to check on us and tells us that “the manager has been here the entire time she’s just in the office”.

We spoke to the manger and she took off one of our meals. She wasn’t very apologetic at all. We were celebrating a birthday here and our tab was still $45! It would have been about $60. One meal and two mimosas! Ridiculous!

Very horrible service! Don’t appreciate your employees lying to our faces about speaking to a manger! I wish there was more disciplinary action that could have been for this matter. Would not...

I'm always looking for new spots to try out. My wifes chiropractor is in this same center and I wanted a cafe style meal. Came in and discovered a hidden treasure. The menu ranges from comfort food breakfasts to Mexican to salads if you're feeling healthy. The service was great, the portions were big and everything tasted delish. I had the chicken fajita salad and it was really good. Can't wait to try their breakfast menu.

So I have to change my review. I originally gave it a 5 star review. The first handful of times that we came here the service was great (we always had the same waitress). But over the last 3 times that we've been there, the service has been horrible. They didn't start us off with drinks, we had to wait until we ordered to get some drinks and they rarely checked on us. We all in my party had to keep requesting refills and finding waiters for service. Anyplace with good service will never let your drink hit the bottom. Get new and friendly...

I've given this place more chances than they deserve but no more. Nearly every time I've been to this restaurant, whether dining-in or ordering to go, I have had some kind of issue. The food isn't that great to begin with and add-in the rude and unskilled staff and it just isn't worth it. I've ordered breakfast here through Grubhub twice in the past week. The first time my order was promised in 15 minutes but then took 30 and, when I picked it up, portions of it were missing and I had to prove my order by showing them the receipt on my cell phone. Yesterday, I ordered breakfast and then got in the car and drove 10 miles to the restaurant only to be told my order was canceled. The employees were running into each other like a bunch of Keystone Cops... it was ridiculous. When I asked to speak with the manager, there was no manager on duty. I'm done! This place is horrible. You may want to consider going someplace that deserves and appreciates...
