Having spent several months in various Motel 6's while my estranged husband's estate was settled (probate) I've seen & experienced customer service from a wide variety of Motel 6 employees. I have never seen a more sullen group of people. The girl that checked us in was just lovely, the office was very well kept & updated. Unfortunately the good impression didn't carry over to any other aspect of our stay. The first night was uneventful, the next day housekeeping never even bothered to check if we needed towels. They required a $50 deposit, that's a first. No other Motel 6 has ever required one, even when we had 2 dogs instead of just the one we have now. They claim to be pet friendly, I would beg to differ, they acted as though our dog was a bringer of pestilence. I understand our dog is a big German Shepherd, people can be fearful of dogs especially a big one. 2 women alone need a protector especially at this location. My daughter had to go to work, graveyard shift. I was left alone with no phone, I don't have a cellphone, in the past the room always had a phone in case of emergency. I could call the front desk if necessary, if there was an issue. There were people above our room drunk off their fannies, slamming doors shouting obscenities at each other. It wasn't pleasant. The room was not particularly clean or maintained, leaks above the bathroom were fixed but still unpainted, black mold on the bottom of the door jam, the smell of stale smoke hung about the room (in a no smoking room) forcing us to keep the window open. But most of all the staff were terribly rude, on the 3rd day my daughter asked for a clean towel after work, the woman obviously didn't want to be bothered, rolling her eyes acting as though this wasn't her job. The dog vocalized in the late morning hours & we were told we couldn't stay another night. That was fine, to be honest it isn't much fun to walk on eggshells in a situation like that. There were other dog's there, our next door neighbor put their dog on a long lead , tied the lead to something in the room, kept their door open so the dog could go outside, wander in front of our room. My dog is a service animal, but it was more than he could tolerate & he barked his displeasure. We packed our things, I picked up any trash that we had made, put the used towels in one location wiped down the counter tops & left. There was no damage that I could see. I smoke, but only outside. They never offered to clean the room in 3 nights. The walkways in front of the rooms are filthy & need a good power cleaning. There is no swimming pool, no laundry facilities, 1 drink vending machine & none for snacks. If you find yourself in Riverside CA the La Sierra location is far superior, cleaner, employees are courteous & actually smile, they will go out of their way to ensure your stay is pleasant. They have a pool, laundry facilities etc. BTW They kept $20 of the $50 deposit, for what I have no idea. I guess it's a way to pay their housekeepers without dipping into their profits. Remember it's not really pet friendly, they have no understanding of dog behavior. Dogs will make some noise, it's unrealistic to expect them to be completely mute. Our dog is verbal on occasion but after several minutes he settles down. He's not a bad dog at all but if you nothing about dogs you might just have some odd notions. I'd stay in Corona or Riverside south if I were a dog owner, they actually like...

Read moreIn all honesty, I was quite satisfied with the beginning half of my week-long stay at this Motel 6. If I'd have visited for only 3 days rather than 7 then this would be a very flattering 5 star review. Unfortunately this was not the case. On the morning of my 4th day here I was awoken by an extremely loud and aggressive knocking that was rattling my door. Upon opening the door I was greeted by the hotel manager (or owner, I'm not entirely sure) and two strangers that appeared to be construction workers. They told me that they were replacing the windows to all the rooms of the motel and that mine was next. Not only was this the first time I was being informed of the construction they planned to do in my room while I was still residing in it, but that it was going to begin right that minute and to immediately clear the area around the window of my belongings. I politely asked if they could reschedule when they worked on my room or if I could even switch rooms while they worked, but was denied both requests. I told them that I would've appreciated it if they'd have told me about this before I purchased my room, or even just the day before so I could've been more prepared and planned my day accordingly. They just shrugged off my comment and forced their way into my room. I had to stay in my room for the next hour while the workers took their mallets, hammers and other various tools and used them to knock out the window, causing broken glass and drywall to be thrown all over the floor and my bed. It's a shame that what could've been an overall very pleasant and easygoing visit, was instead ruined by the staffs rude and inconsiderate ways. I should also mention that while I didn't see any bugs in my room, I heard a concerning amount of complaints from quite a few other guests that they encountered roaches in their room. While I was waiting in line at the front desk I overheard a woman, who had checked in just a few minutes prior, claim that when she pulled back the blanket on her bed, only to reveal 2 very large cockroaches. It's also not in that great of an area, while the college is close, the hotel is still surrounded by homeless, drug dealers, and people that may harass you, especially if you find yourself outside after dark. My good friend and his significant other were harassed by this guy right outside our room asking if he could "buy his girl from him" and "what her price was".... Very insulting and degrading. I proceeded to tell him off and call 911 but he was, of course, long gone by the time...
