We arrived here and saw a bunch of people eating and they were cleaning their plates. We were excited to eat, as my boyfriend specifically wanted to eat fajitas tonight. I had been here years ago and loved it, so I wanted him to try it. Before, the owner came out and talked to me and said how he is from Guanajuato. He was very nice and we had a good conversation. It really left an impression.
This time it was horrible. I regret going and I am embarrassed that I told my boyfriend to go there. I spent years living in Mexico and arrived to the US in 2020. I really miss Mexican food. This was nothing like the flavors I know. The tacos were swimming in oil. I received two very tiny pieces of lime to squirt on them. The chicken had a good flavor, but the cecina and asada didn't have any flavor. The lime gave it flavor. Pastor was not pastor at all. I have no idea where those flavors came from, but it was strange and not like anything I'd ever tasted before. The food was so disappointing and immediately after leaving I felt sick. It is about 2 hours later and I still feel like I am going to throw up.
Worst of all was the service. It was a stark difference from before. The waitress wasn't interested in serving us at all. She wasn't friendly. I don't know if she is the only person on earth that doesn't understand my Spanish, especially talking about simple things, or she was just trying to show off her English that I didn't really understand. My boyfriend and I only speak in Spanish and spoke to her in Spanish and she kept addressing me in English and I couldn't even understand her. Since my boyfriend doesn't speak English, he didn't know what she was talking about either. She gave him his plate 5-10 minutes before she gave me mine - missing 1 taco, but they did not charge. That I want to give them credit for. He received it and the fajitas he wanted so badly were covered in cheese. They didn't look appetizing at all. We started to eat and one of my tacos, which I ordered plain, had onion through it. I hate onion, which is why I asked for everything plain. The whole time the waitress would just drop the plate off and walk away. Only one time did she ask us if we wanted anything else and that is when she brought me my missing taco, which she didn't realize until I looked confused upon receiving my order. Even when she left the check, which I had to go ask for because service was painfully slow, she just left it on the table and walked away. I don't know what her problem was, but the service was the worst I've had in a very, very long time.
I will never go back. I'm grateful I tried again, so I can be sure to...
Read moreZero stars. Terrible service. 3 tables that ordered after us got their food before us. Ordered a chimichanga, clarified, is it shredded beef or ground beef? She said shredded so I order it. It comes full of chopped carne asada. Okay, not what I wanted and their carne asada isn’t good but fine I’ll eat it. First bite, gristle. Okay, that’s fine, it happens. Third bite, biggest piece of gristle I have ever had in any food anywhere. I decided to ask the server to just bring me a chicken tinga one instead. But then she doesn’t come back to the table for 45 minutes. I request to just have it taken off my check because it was, in fact, not what I ordered. She insists that I have to pay for it because I took a bite… not sure how I’m supposed to know it’s not what I ordered without taking a bite. I’ve put up with fairly poor service here before and inconsistent food quality, sometimes good-sometimes terrible but this was the last straw. If you’re gonna mess up, never come back to check, and then insist on not fixing it then you don’t deserve to be...
Read moreThis restaurant is not very large, though they manage to fit plenty of seats. The service was pleasant, however slow at times. Their chips were crispy and fresh. The red and green salsas were very good. I ordered a pork dish with verde sauce. The entree came with rice and beans, neatly presented. My complaint, however, was the size of the portion of pork I recieved. I only receieved two medium size chunks. I have received at least two times the portion size from different restaurants, that prepare the same type of cuisine. The other individuals in my party receieved generous portions. The food itself was flavorful, and satisfying. Flavors that are true to Mexican cusine, not imitation. The menu contains a liberal amount of interesting items to choose from. The restaurant was well kept and clean. If you enjoy Mexican food, I doubt this location will...
