If I could give a negative star, I would. Arrived at thr restaurant at about 7:30 pm on a Friday night. Though the place was bustling, it was by no means crowded or too busy to function. My wife and I walked in to have dinner. The kid, hostess if you want to call her that, told my wife and I that there were two "people" in front of us and that it would be a minute before there would be a table ready for us. At that moment, there was just us and one other couple standing at the counter. The waiting area was full. There were 2 empty tables. We always assume there is a wait. But when the kid got back to the counter, she looked right at my wife and I, turned to the other couple and asked how she could help them. They said they wanted to sit. She told them it would be a 25 minute wait and asked for their name and phone number. She then added them to the list. Normally, I don't complain. But, I'm not hard to miss. I'm 6'4" and covered in tattoos, and bald with a beard. Also, I'm like 350 pounds. Like I said, not easy to miss. She blatantly ignored us. When confront about this, she acted like she never even saw us. Played it up as it being way too busy. This is completely unsatisfactory. We have eaten here many times and never had an issue until tonight. I know some people say that the food can "kill" a restaurant, but I believe the service can make or break a restaurant much more quickly. Due to the treatment, and no admittance of error from the staff, it will be a long while before I eat here again. And besides this review, I will tell everyone I can that the service here is...
Read moreOkay I am not particularly happy with my experience so far and I have not even tasted the food yet. When I called, someone answered and hung up without saying anything and I asked about it when i got there to make sure it was the right number, it was. Their response to hanging up was that they were busy. I could have been put on hold and I would have preferred that over being hung up on with out a word. It had me thinking I had the wrong number! Then when I ordered I also ordered extra sauce. For TWO 2oz sauces it was a dollar and what I got was not worth 50 cents. The amount I got could fit in ONE 2oz cups for a dang dollar. I hate when someone cheats me. And the experiences I got made me feel cheated. Over 40 dollars payed but I can't get a full sauce. They only put one sauce on the plate which is half full by the way. At least at ichiban I get 2 and they mostly be full I will probably swing by there to get some sauce. I really wanted to like this place, I really did. I was excited for them to open and would always come around to see if they opened yet. I wanted to have a new option of japanese food around here. Now I'm just disappointed and kind of wish I did not bother. I did not feel welcomed and left feeling worse than...

Sorry to say the experience was lackluster… the sushi was very good, but the wasabi had no heat and the ginger had no flavor whatsoever, detracting from what would have been a very good meal.
I asked for a cup of ice and got ice water. The plum wine was only a half glass… I sent it back and told the to fill to the same level as Rocky Mount.
Baseline: If you’re willing to dive to Rocky Mount then you will have a much better experience. They could learn a lot from their big sister. Me, I frequently go to Rocky Mount so I will avoid this place...
