Update. "be of further help". Is that a joke as you offered no help as usual. In all the previous bad experiences all I got was covid excuses and oh yeah one of your employees offered to let me drive all the way back to the restaurant to pick up my missing salad. Yeah thanks but I will do as I have had to do in past and stop ordering from Outback. Shame as you used to be my absolute favorite place to eat in Roanoke. I am tired of excuses and will not continue to waste my hard earned money on inedible food. Downgraded to 2 stars for that ridiculous response.
My right hand is currently in a brace due to CMC issues and I am having difficult time using it let alone cook. Thought I would pick up a few meals for the weekend and was craving some steak. I looked and it seemed Outback reviews were improving so I decided to give them another chance. I had not ordered from them since November 2021 due to 4 bad experiences in a row. Bad food, missing food and special instructions not followed, etc.. Well big mistake on my part. Although all salads were included this time and look and taste good the no croutons was not followed for 2 requested nor was any extra dressing included that I requested - and I scoop of butter for my baked potato instead of the requested "everything".. Worst of all first steak I don't know what is going on with! Almost burnt on the outside but there is a sliver on bottom that looks like raw meat. It was chewy and yes it tasted raw. Don't even understand how that happened given how dark the outside was. Also from my picture you can see the baked potato is yellowish. As soon as I cut it open my first thought was old potato. And yes it was old.
I dread trying my other 2 steaks and hoping when I cut them open they don't have the rawness as well. As it is I ended up having to throw out a good portion of my steak as I do not eat raw meat. My hand hurts too bad to deal with it and try to cook just bottom portion. That was my sole reason for ordering from here to begin with. Another very disappointing experience. I really was hoping Outback had got their act together and improved. Unfortunately this was another bad experience and I am putting them back on my do not order list. Will advise others as well they still need improving. It was not like I ordered at a busy time either. It was around 3pm and hardly anyone in the parking lot. Doesn't matter if pandemic, busy, etc. this continued poor food and underwhelming service is unacceptable to me especially when I pay what I do. Read moreI was scheduled an interview for server at 3:30 pm. I am always prompt and early so I walked in at about 3:15 to show I'm serious about getting the job. Turns out the "hiring manager" wasn't there so I was asked to come back the next day. Kind of annoying but I'm am understanding person. So I rescheduled the interview for the next day at the same time and once again showed up early. I was walked to the back where I got stuck in a booth for more than a half an hour. While siting there I heard an employee (must have been a manager) complaining about having to do so many interviews that day. So already I feel like I'm an annoyance to them after I had already had to waste gas on the previous day and reschedule due to poor interview scheduling. Well, finally I get the manager to come to the table after hearing them talk for 20 minutes in the back which was a personal conversation. Only to be met by a gentlemen who sat down and said today will be my "first interview" Seriously? So, now I know I'll have to come back again. He proceeds to sit down and asks me my name. Well that was just about the whole interview. Asked me no questions about myself, no questions about qualifications for the job, no questions regarding certifications, just no interview questions, period. I was asked about my last two previous employers and why I left those jobs and that was it. Told me they would be calling people back on Monday. I was just shocked. I've been to alot of interviews, some real bad ones, but this was ridiculous. I wasted 2 hours of driving on top of gas and my time to be basically ushered straight out of the door. Also, I am a great employee and they would have been more than satisfied with their hire because I care about people, their experience, and how they feel when they leave. How unprofessional!! I hear alot of managers say they can't find "good help" these days and then proceed to push out a person who would have done an amazing job because they were "sick of doing interviews that day." Read moreSo we get there and it’s a 30 minute wait to be seated. There are empty tables but only about 8-10 staff members visible. While we’re outside waiting the hostess comes up(after waiting 20 minutes)and asks what the name is again even though they said they’d text us when a table was ready. Asks if a table or booth will be okay. We’re seated ordered drinks and an appetizer within the first 10 minutes. 10 minutes later we get waters and wait an additional 10 on our drinks from the bar. After we get our drinks we order our meals. Appetizer takes an additional 10 minutes(not brought out by our waitress)then we don’t get the sauce for it for about another 10. Brought out by the same waiter in the other section. Ordered another drink from the bar takes 10 minutes and is brought out by the waiter of the section beside our waitress. THEN our waitress comes out and asks what we ordered again 30 minutes after we’ve ordered😭 Overheard another table complaining to management about the service and food and manager says there’s a bunch of new staff. So when I see our waitress again I ask her what happened with our order and how much longer would it be. She apologizes says it’s her first night and that she had lost our meal ticket and that they told her she couldn’t put our meal ticket in until the appetizer came out. And I’m like “so you just put it in 10 minutes ago when we asked instead of 30 minutes ago when we ordered she says yes. Say I tell her to go ahead and make it to go. She asks if there’s anything else they could get us in the meantime so we ordered more drinks from the bar. Got the drinks fairly quickly.
