IHOP — Restaurant in Roanoke

Today’s visit was NOT great, because of our waitress’ attitude. Maybe she was having a bad day, because I’m pretty sure we had her before. Today it seemed like a cold shoulder from the beginning when we just asked for water to drink. No friendliness. Brought our water and food with no concern about what we might need or want. The waffles did not look anything like the picture & had missing portions when formed in the waffle iron we guess, unripened strawberries and no ask or offer of additional flavored syrups. She brought the 2nd order of waffles out slid them on the table and turned right away to go. I then began looking around for any waitress of which I could catch the attention. No luck. Finally our waitress was coming out to get another family’s order and I caught her attention to ask about flavored syrup and she said okay she’d bring me some, but then went to get this family’s order first as my pancakes got colder. I got up and went to another waitress to see if she could just grab me a bottle of syrup and she said she would after putting an order in the computer. Then our waitress got upset because I didn’t wait on her and she brought my syrup after making some out loud remarks about me as a customer. The syrup she brought was like water which seemed to be watered down. My waffles were now cold & my wife and I were ready to leave. She brought us our bill and annoying asked if their was anything else she could do for us. I asked for a to-go box and then she proceeded to check us out at the register. I usually tip my waitress (who put forth a effort) very well, but NOT today. My wife was even more put out by her attitude and my wife worked in customer service at a restaurant for several years. She was shocked by this lady’s customer service attitude. My previous experience awhile back: “This is a pretty good IHOP. Good food and descent price. Pretty clean, not too busy, but not...

The food was good but the waitress and service definitely could've been better!! We knew it wasn't going to be great when she was sitting down to take our order!! She was rushing us to order. It was five of us, adults. There was only one other table of customers. She was the same with them. She wasn't just acting impatient, she was vocally rushing us. She walked away for a few minutes then come back. I mean just put her stuff down and left without saying anything! We got our food, only a few mistakes. Some of the items didn't come and we had to ask for them. She acted like it wasn't supposed to come with the meal. It was definitely on the menu! We missed the syrups not being on the tables any longer. By the time we asked for syrup, one actually went to look for some, she finally brought some, the pancakes were cold 😣. The disgruntled look on her face when we asked for a couple of small boxes to take them home just added to the list. A growing list of reasons that i would not have left her a tip!! The only tip i would've given her would've been to be more kind and polite or find a job that she didn't have to be around people! This was a celebration dinner after a game and me and my nephews birthday. No matter the service, she was not taking the joy out of our evening! This wasn't our first restaurant choice, but we knew it is normally very good! The waitress does make the difference in the meal and review. When we arrived my mom and I were seated and asked for our drink order. We both ordered coffee and water. The waitress brought that and I told her that we were ready to order, but she walked away. We had no silverware so I drank my coffee without sugar, otherwise it would have gotten cold. Food was brought to a table behind us who also said that they had no silverware. After bringing them silverware, our order was taken. We ordered cheese omelets with pancakes off the 55+ menu. When our food arrived we still had no silverware and the food didn't look appetizing at all! The omelets were eggs folded over several times with a couple of slices of American cheese laying on top of them. The cheese looked plastic and the eggs were SO cold that the cheese wasn't melted AT ALL. And since when is cheese on the top of an omelet and not inside? After the ripe old age of 55?Let's be real IHOP! How cheap! The pancakes looked okay pancakes except for the fact that they too were too cold to melt the hard blob of butter in the middle of them. I asked the waitress to have our food remaid and brought to us hot ,please. My mom and I had been visiting with my dad at the hospital and hadn't eaten since morning. After waiting for 20 min I got up told one of the waitresses that we were leaving. We were there for a total of 1 hour and 2 minutes and I can assure that those are the last minutes of my time they will get! Advice: go elsewhere for...
