I recently visited public house with my family for dinner, and unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. The incident that occurred during our visit was not only embarrassing but also handled inappropriately by the staff.
While waitress was taking our dinner order , the bench seat we were seated on suddenly broke, causing an uncomfortable situation. When we brought this to the attention of our waitress, she immediately accused us of "bouncing" on the seat, which was completely unfounded. Not only was her response unprofessional, but it also left us feeling humiliated in front of our parents and in-laws.
To make matters worse, the head waitress, who was called over by our server, approached us with a noticeable attitude. Instead of addressing the issue tactfully and empathetically, she also accused us of the same behavior without properly investigating the situation. This lack of professionalism and customer service skills were disappointing and made us question the overall management of the establishment.
It is essential for any establishment to handle customer complaints with respect and understanding. Unfortunately, our experience at public house fell far short of these expectations. We felt unheard and disrespected throughout the entire incident.
While the food and ambiance of the bar were decent, the way our complaint was handled overshadowed any positives. Customer satisfaction should be a top priority for any establishment, and the way this situation was handled raises concerns about the overall quality of service at public house
I hope that management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the need for improved customer service training among their staff. It is my sincere hope that future patrons will not have to endure the same disrespectful treatment that my family and I...
Read moreMy friends and I went today, 10/09/2025 around 2pm for a quick bite to eat. First of all, we walked in and there were only 10 other customers in the entire restaurant, and only one at the bar. My friend and I sat down and it was 5 minutes before we even saw anyone working out on the floor, and another 5 minutes before our bartender came to take our drink orders. Maybe 20 minutes later we ordered food. I ordered the toasted ravioli, which I expected to be regular ricotta filled ravioli, breaded and deep fried. What I received was nothing of the sort. I got raviolis filled with….queso cheese? I’m not exactly sure what it was, but it definitely wasn’t ricotta, and it had tomatoes or red peppers inside. It also arrived with ranch when it said it came with marinara on the menu. My friend ordered chicken sliders which had pieces of chicken on it that were so big, one piece would have been enough for 3 sliders. Her fries were also undercooked and hard. The bartender didn’t seem to have a clue about what was going on. We asked if she had a specials or happy hour menu to which she responded, “Uhhh……I’m not really sure.”
I’ll be honest….I have never had good service here. I’ve been a few times with family and now I only go back when a group wants to go there, because I’m always so disappointed in the service. The food has always been fine up until today, and this was the final straw for me. The food and service were so awful that I do not see myself returning for any reason, which is sad because I live close and it is a convenient place to go when I want to grab a bite to eat or meet up with someone. I definitely won’t be going back...
Read moreI will never give this location my business or entertain the idea ever again. Mid November I wanted to throw a surprise birthday party for my now fiance for his birthday. I decided to have it at this location since i had a great experience before personally. When i called to ask for details, I asked the host/hostess when i would need to make the reservation. The group i was going to invite was only about 20 people and they told me they could accommodate the group. The person i spoke with told me that i could make the reservation a week before the party and they would be able to make it work. Mid December was when i wanted to have the party. So as I was directed, I called Johnny Black's in Rochester Hills a week before and they told me that they would not be able to accommodate the party due to already being booked with reservations. I was in a panic since i only had a week before the party to find somewhere else and i had already made a Facebook invite for this location. I was told that a manager would call me to talk about the party. Never received a phone call. So i had to tell my guests that the party was going to be elsewhere and that sure made me look good to everyone. Luckily i was able to find another place that I was able to make the reservation with. It ended up working out perfectly but i was so furious over the fact that i was told to wait until a week before and they ended up not being able to help. If i could give a zero star review i would. Only reason they are getting one star from me is because i have to. I am still fuming about this and the party...
