Dec/2024 Racked up 6 more visits since Oct and still consistently great - the best around. No other restaurant in the area can match this place for quality/service. To find any criticism at all about this place the only issue I could come up with is their forks are too small.
October/2024 Still the best around. Consistantly great breakfasts every time and waitresses are the best, even during busy hours. Tried other breakfast places in a 20 mile radius but always with regrets and always come back to Poached. This has become my only breakfast place and have become a loyal customer.
July/2024 After my previous review it was a while before I gave this place another chance. I have since been here several times, during both light and busy days where they were completely packed. The previous problem was with one of the waitresses and their "policy" with toast. Also, The potatoes where never really cooked enough for me. I like crispy hash browns with color, not just simply warmed up. I must say the owner/chef surprised me my first time back. Two pieces of toast and a perfect egg breakfast. The problem waitress wasn't there and the others are always stellar regarding service. I've been back several times and now highly recommend this place for breakfast. Everything on the menu is the best around. Thank you for listening and making an effort to please.
Previous Review - 1 year ago: great breakfasts and coffee but REFUSED serve a second piece of toast upon request. when asked why not 2 pieces of toast with order like in the past several years and without notice on the menu the waitress said the bread costs too much to serve 2 in one breakfast. ??? $15 dollars for a small 2 egg veg omelet and $3.50 for a coffee and a 20% tip is more than I'm willing to pay for a breakfast. but then to not at least give me an option of paying extra for a piece of toast? A $50 dollar breakfast outing once a week for the past few years to poached is no longer a breakfast destination because of their decision to forbid a loyal customer their 2 pieces of rye with their omelet. won't EVER come back. No chef owner decides against what a customer wants, especially a piece of toast? I'll cook my own from now on. Only going...
Read moreGluten free pancakes are offered. You receive 3 good sized pancakes. There is cross contamination possibilities, so not recommended for those with Celiac disease, but if you just wish a meal for gluten sensitivities you should be fine. Sausages were cooked properly without burning the outside. Selection of fresh fruit in place of having hash browns is a welcomed change of pace. While I understand the necessity for some businesses to charge for using a debit or credit card, I am not happy with the fact that it isn't a flat rate. When you use your card, the fee changes based on your purchase. Because of this practice I have only given this place a 2 star rating. It has nothing to do with their food, or service. I feel that a notice that states I paraphrase here (we charge a fee for paying with debit or credit card when the purchase does not meet the cost of item(s) ordered) while I can't remember the exact words, the message I read is: your use of a credit or debit card is an inconvenience to us as it costs us money, making me feel like less of a valued customer, but more like a liability. Like I said, if there was a FLAT rate for using their credit card processing service to pay for my meal would be a much better option. Many places charge between 0.99¢ and $1.25. There are also places that require a $5 purchase to use a credit or debit card in their establishment which is something I consider amicable for both the...
Read moreMy fiancé ordered breakfast takeout for us, which included French toast, sausage links, and a chorizo breakfast burrito. As we enjoyed our meal, we were both commenting on how delicious the food was, particularly the burrito. However, as we split it in half, my fiancé suddenly felt pain and began spitting out his food. Upon inspection, we discovered a hard, glass-like material or plastic in the burrito. We were absolutely shocked by this.
While the taste of the food was not an issue, I felt compelled to give a low rating due to the carelessness involved in food preparation. It is concerning to think how something like this could have ended up in our meal. My fiancé called the restaurant immediately, and the staff member we spoke with apologized and asked us to bring the item in so that the manager could address the situation. However, we believe that no resolution could have adequately addressed the potential dangers, especially if something more serious had occurred. I was also deeply concerned about the possibility of one of my children receiving a piece of the burrito and potentially choking on it.
Due to this incident, we will not be returning to this establishment. We do not expect compensation, as the unsanitary conditions posed a significant safety risk, and we feel it could have resulted in a much...
