This place is such a blessing.

I travel for work and am in a new city every few weeks. I'm a bit uninspiring in that I usually get sushi for lunch/dinner most of the time I'm away. That being said... I eat a lot of sushi. I can't claim to know what's authentic or not, but I have a lot of comparisons to draw on.

This place rocks and absolutely stands out among the many places I've visited. A few things stand out to me in particular that I'd really like to highlight.

The quality of the fist Daily consistency Speed & hospitality of the host and servers

I ate here almost every day for lunch over the two week period I was in Rochester. Every day the fish was fresh, delicious, and very well prepared. I've been to a lot of places that have variation week to week and it's clear they put a lot of love into curating the ingredients. I was consistently happy with everything I tried and at this point I tried a significant amount of the menu. Everything was fantastic.

Good food is always well paired with equally great staff. Every server was so friendly and accommodating. The chef(s) greet you with a warm "Hello!" when you first walk in and a "Thank you!" when you walk out. Every day.

I don't bother writing reviews very often and I get the privilege to try a lot of restaurants. This place stands out as a true gem of all my travels and I will miss it dearly when I leave Michigan. I hope to return again soon.

Thank you guys for a wonderful few weeks of meals. I wish you nothing but success. To everyone...

This was my first visit at this location. I love Sushi, and the food was great, the chef was so nice a helpful, but the minute I came in the waitress had a painted frown on her face. When my family arrived, a precious 2 year old I just wanted to spend quality time with, it didn't get any better. The waitress seemed so irritated, very clearly, when we ask for chop sticks for the child. She even ask if she really used them. Really, how much do chopsticks cost now days? I was happy that I was the one facing her, not the child's mother, because I didn't want her to experience the full scope of the uncomfortable feeling I was getting. We were not taking up any valuable space, as there were always at least 2 tables empty at all time, but we were glared at as though we were a bother. She took the high chair away prematurely, and bent over right as we were still there to clean the floor. I have never experienced this uncomfortable feeling before, as to say, you can leave now. She even told me that you can go ahead and pay now. WOW!!!!!!! Yes all of the reviews are correct, the food was really good and the cook is amazing. Just please don't take your children there if you want to have a good experience. My granddaughter was also being amazing, very well mannered and keeping her inside voice. I would never go back to this location ever again. Fire the waitress and get another kind person for this position. If not, she will take your business...

Sushi Neko is right around the corner from work so I had to check it out. The rave reviews intrigued me and I always love good sushi. Let me tell you, the reviews do not lie. Walking into the restaurant gives you a very welcoming feel. Very clean and fitting decor. The staff was super friendly so we were excited to try our food. We ordered a lot. Edamame, Udon, Dragon Roll, Tiger Roll, Mexican Roll, Ahi Roll, and a Cool Summer Roll. Everything was amazingly fresh and delicious and the Mexican Roll and Cool Summer Roll we're definitely our favorites. I can be very picky with Sushi and this place absolutely is a 5 star restaurant. Between the atmosphere, the amazing service and the amazing food, this is not a place to pass up. Believe the hype because this place is about to get more customers.

Edit Jan 30 2023 Just as good as when I first came but I was right, this place has definitely picked up some customers. Can get busy but...

The food was good we got udon and several sushi rolls 4 and green tea. Honestly would never come back again. We came with my 2 year old who is amazingly well behaved and a good eater. She was pretty quiet the whole time and the hostess/waitress kept making rude faces and acting irritated. Did not appear to be friendly. She took her highchair away without asking if we were done. She also started cleaning up and telling us we could pay the bill without asking if we were done We ordered a lot of food and this place is clearly not kid friendly. My daughter has Down syndrome and uses sign to communicate. She was visiting with her grandma and having a lovely visit but the disrespect of the waitress made this visit here unpleasant The chef was great and respectful. The waitress even appeared upset when I asked for chopsticks for my daughter. I would not recommend this place for eating with children. We will not be back.
