TL;DR: Street tacos & roasted cactus taste great. Specify if you don't want cilantro or have vegetarian/vegan dietary restrictions. The waitress was amazing, some food not great. Full story: Dined here for the first time for lunch today. It was a bit of a rough experience. The Taco Poppers were way too spicy. I'm a fan of spice, but I like to be able to taste my food too. The seeds were left in the jalapenos! I've never eaten jalapeno poppers that had the seeds left in them, and I never wish to again. I appreciated that the menu listed cilantro in the items that had cilantro, so I was able to order foods that did not have cilantro listed. (Cilantro tastes like floral soap to me, and even a bit in a dish ruins the flavor for me. ) I was disappointed when my Birria Taco came out thick with cilantro, despite not being a listed ingredient. They were kind enough to bring me a new one. The new one tasted magnificent! The Tinga taco & Roasted cactus also tasted wonderful. The street corn was okay. My girlfriend ordered the chicken fajitas. The chicken was also seasoned liberally with cilantro. Again, that was not specified on the menu. My girlfriend normally likes cilantro, but said the flavor was overpowering. The fajita skillet was piled so high that none of the food actually achieved the sear/caramelization that you'd expect from a fajita dish. She did enjoy the seasoned fries. As a note, our fries had a piece of pork in them... The fries were marked as a vegan option, but this would concern me greatly if I were vegetarian/vegan. The server and staff were super friendly and nice. I appreciated their help.

Nice place...fairly new. It's a stones throw from my work. Local businesses have tried along with ours and unfortunately many are disappointed..maybe it's a preference thing, but personally, my experiences were not great.. I think everyone knows that an authentic mexican taco is quite small in proportion.. But...I know, even though they're small, the thing that makes them great, Is the ingredients, especially the meat...should be perfect! tender, juicy, and flavorful... At $5 to $6 each....they're far from that mark...dry, dry, dry.. I tried twice thinking maybe the 2nd time would be better...so 3 tacos, rice $20 plus tip..1 jalapeño on my taco, mushy tomatoes, no sauces... Tacos are 3 bites...maybe 2 I'll pay five dollars a taco all day, if the ingredients are top notch... Good location.. great atmosphere..the staff were Friendly but for the price it does not match the food... I work with over 30 Hispanic people and they won't even eat there... I do wish you luck on your restaurant... It's a tough business to have...

My girlfriends and I went there for lunch today. We loved The Honey Tree and were excited to try something new in the same location. The interior remodel is gorgeous! The restrooms were decorated nicely and clean.

That's about the extent of the good news :-(.

-The street corn side had no tajin seasoning and very little taste. -The nopalitos side I ordered had NO seasoning, not even salt and pepper. They were slimy, too, so I took 1-2 bites and left them. -I ordered the shrimp caesar with beans on the side. Was supposed to come with chipotle ranch on the side. When the salad came, it was pre-dressed with traditional caesar dressing and poppyseed dressing on the side. No beans anywhere. My girlfriend ordered "the same" and hers came with no shrimp, but the same weird poppyseed dressing. We did ask for the correct side of dressing and got something creamy green and spicy from the server: it did not look like chipotle ranch? The salad portions were not bountiful: I came home hungry. -I ordered an iced tea. Server came back to the table and said "they were out of tea." I ordered a Diet Coke. It came flat, and I think it was regular Coke, not diet.

We would have brought up these issues with the server or the manager, but NO ONE table checked us at any point during our meal, not the server, not a floor manager, no one.

We paid our bill and left a generous tip since all of us at the table have a background in food service.

As we left, a manager (We think) wished us a good day. My girlfriend stopped to tell him some of our concerns. He never made it back to our table to even check on us.

I understand that new places have to workout the kinks of an opening, but not on my dime. We will...

Food was pretty darn tasty ...price and service is what kept this from a 5 star. Let's be honest it's Mexican food ....hard to justify $23 for fajitas....but it is a go to dish for my wife and i....way more onions than peppers ...the waitress proceeded to set sizzling fajitas and piping enchiladas down in front of my 1 year old sitting in a height chair at the end of the table...maybe she is fresh to the serving industry ...but please use common sense ....I went for the street tacos and asked for no pickled onions ...ya know what was on top of all 3 tacos ... disappointed I had to pull them off...not huge deal I'm not allergic ...I just don't like them and specifically ordered them without ....the kitchen apparently messed up and had to restart my wife's fajitas ...by the time they came out my kids, my mom and I had basically finished and she ate some of my kids dishes and basically packed the majority of the fajitas to go ...we actually just moved to Rochester hills and trying to find our spots ...in Troy we had a couple of go to Mexican places that we frequented very regularly..so not saying won't give it another go...just wasn't the best...
