Saigon Banh Mi — Restaurant in Rochester

I had always gone to Pho Chau when I was growing up and when the owner left I was heartbroken. It wasn't the same after. So when she opened this place, I was super excited to try it. I got a chicken banh mi and a steamed pork bun. The banh mi was one of the best I've ever eaten. The chicken was super tender and flavorful. The pate on it was super good and added tons of flavor. The pickled carrots were very flavorful and added the right amount of crunch to the sandwich. The steamed bun was huge!!! Definitely worth the money. Both of these items were less than 10$. I tried this place today for the first time and have now found a restaurant I’ll become a regular at! I got the grilled pork banh mi and my husband got the grilled chicken. We also shared a steamed bun, and I finished with an iced coffee. First off, the staff were very welcoming and friendly! We received our order quickly and everything was very fresh and flavorful. $7-$8 for banh mi is extremely competitive and on top of that the flavor and freshness are excellent. Service is delightful as the older couple that own and run the restaurant are adorable and a joy to talk to.
