We have seen some amazing performances at North Star. They do a fantastic job at bringing in great talent. We saw Junk FM twice and Pop Rocks. Both were fantastic shows. I'm surprisingly impressed with this place. Drink prices are so reasonable and bartenders are super professional and attentive. My only criticism would be a more organized seating arrangement which I'm not sure is possible. We really enjoy this place.

I like this bar, the drinks are very cheap for Rochester, plus they open early. So, if you are looking to start early, this is the place to be! There isn't any food here, so eat before you come. There are live performances every weekend AND, if you come before the band starts you can drink 50 cent beers. It isn't the cleanest bar in town, but it sure is a good time.

Only venue for live music in the area. Crowd has certainly changed over 30 years . Still an amazing place for a drink. Tons of History to go over if you get the right local to chat with. Definitely a DIVE.

We just had a couple beers and shot some pool (not billiards). It was wonderful to find a local place that is reasonably clean and welcoming. The pools tables were all available when we got there (it was the middle of the day, to early evening, on a Saturday), and I just hung with a couple of my best friends: playing pool and having a beer. The restrooms were adequate and clean, the drinks were decent (and not overpriced) with more than just one American beer on tap, and the temperature and air quality was great (it was a smoky day outside because of wildfires hundreds of miles away). We haven't been back in the evening to night yet, but we will. At that point, if I get something to...

When i was an avid drinker, this was by far my favorite place to go. Great bands, great drink prices, great bar staff. The people here are real, if the guy wants to wear a leather jacket with spikes, he does. Other places in Rochester the patrons would be judgemental, here you can be yourself and not give a crap.

I went here every weekend for like 5 years, the only fight i ever seen was when Randy opened the front door with a guys face. Dont let people tell you lies about constant fights, etc etc, this is a great place to be if your sick of dealing with the fake a** people at other bars, trying to impress people while they wear their little...

I visited here on December 15th with some colleagues. I paid a $2 tip on a $5 drink. I tried making small talk with the bartender(/owner?) by asking him about how to get my band to play a show there since they didn't respond to my email a couple weeks prior. He basically told me to kick rocks. I asked him again after buying another drink, and he said "I'll get back to you."

Well it's been a week and you still haven't gotten back to me. Not that we would want to play at this toxic waste dump anyway. The bathrooms were grimy, the drinks were awful, and the vibe was seedy at best. I wonder how many of these positive...
