McDonald's — Restaurant in Rock Falls

I drove through the drive thru placed my order. I asked them to make me fresh fries with my order.I always order the same thing 2 doub quarter pounder meals,2 plain cheeseburgers for my pups,and double cheeseburger for whoever pops in while trying to eat our meal. Anyway I get my food, I am already upset fries were ice cold..Had no time to go in so cut my loses and went home.. I get home my double quarter pound cheeseburgers were plain, my cheeseburgers for the pups were loaded with onoins and ketchup and my double cheeseburger was missing...ugh. ughhhhhh.. So I called Rock Falls McDonald's asked for the manager. They gave me Maria.. I explained what happened and she apologized and asked me to come back and they would make all my food fresh..I couldn't go back that day so she said just come in my next time ask for her and she will give me 2 free value meals..I agreed.. Well I didn't get back there for over a month and 1/2 due to my father passing away down in southern Illinois. I came back home and was low on funds but hungry and remembered I had 2 free meals coming.. I called up asked for Maria and she still remembered me and made good on my order..I was really shocked and surprised she remembered.. This time my food was EXACTLY what and how I ordered.. I think Rock Falls having Maria as manager is probably the best thing that could have happened to the franchise.. I will definitely return... Thanks Maria, for making a down and out girl really happy my past few months have been a nightmare with all the stuff I been dealing with..Especially after the loss...

I will always remember the colors and abstract architecture from when I was a child. But I'm old enough to remember when you could still smoke in restaurants. The whole place seems to be modern contemporary, my visual enjoyment does not go hand-in-hand. I do appreciate the openness and transparency of the kitchen and its staff and the back now. I like when I can see the cleanliness and aptitude of the people making my food. It does seem as though the drive-thru. There is an adequate place to sit.

The back of the house staff seem to be extremely busy. Where as The upfront staff seemed to be bored. I was greeted with a lackluster energy in comparison to the back of the house. My food was brought up in a timely manner. But the food itself I could tell had sat awhile. Just got a cheeseburger. I was ordering for two other people they said nothing negative about their items. So I'll assume that the other two items were good.

Overall, I Miss what the place used to be. But obviously they have to evolve with the times. I noticed that they don't have a dollar menu anymore to my dismay. that was one of the main reasons that I ever ate there. I wanted a cheap hot meal to go. So I guess in that retrospect, the place is thriving. Maybe some people don't but I prefer a smiling face while placing my order. But I also know that smiling all the time is quite difficult. Every time I DoorDash my order to my work, my food is cold. I’m literally one minute from McDonald’s If not two when I placed my order at 1:22.Am It said my order was confirmed I called at 1:46 am To ask if anybody picked my order up yet they told me they didn’t have my order three minutes into the conversation she tells me they just got my order and I read it to her and asked if she could please make sure everything was completely fresh she said yes my food gets here a few minutes later it’s cold The fries definitely aren’t fresh and they didn’t even send me my drink. I pay a lot of money for DoorDash so that way I can at least have dinner while I’m working, but yet it’s never hot and it’s never fresh and I’m always missing something out of my order.. It’s just really sad that I was even talking to an employee and asked her to make sure it was fresh and then it literally gets here And it’s cold and the fries you can tell that they’ve been sitting there for a long time and then I didn’t even get the drink that I paid for 5/28/2025!!! I’ve worked fast food for years. I’ve worked at McDonald’s. I’ve even DoorDash. It’s not hard to give people good fresh food that we pay so much money for...
