McDonald's — Restaurant in Rockford Township

Well, unfortunately, here we go again here. Went there today & same deal, younger workers, NOT paying attention 2 waiting on customers thru drive thru, messing up our order AGAIN, we didn't know it was not correct til it was brought out 2 vehicle, we AGAIN inspect the bag 2 b SURE it's OUR order & AGAIN it wasn't complete. Had to drive back thru again 2 order rest of order we didn't get first time around. This time while WAITING in drive thru, the young guy taking orders, talking with other young guy, was VERY loose w/the lips, talking their smack/trash talk while we're overhearing the whole conversation going on, NOT that we wanted to either!! Throwing the "S" bombs & using the "N" word too, I get it, this is their language, but the rest of us customers just don't wanna hear it either... as we pulled up 2 pickup 2nd food order, we spoke 2 lady, who looks like a manager/supervisor person, she looked appropriate dressed for the job/job title, what we had just witnessed w/these young men, she said she'd have a talk with them, which she may or may not do, we don't have any idea if this will happen or not, but this kind of conversation/talk SHOULDN'T have been happening anyways out in front of customers, maybe later after their shift is over 4 the day... Young guy DID STATE that this ISN'T being ''professional' here, THAT'S an UNDERSTATEMENT!! Why AFTER the damage IS DONE would you even make such a comment, AFTER THE FACT...REALLY?? The service there is not very customer friendly, some staff ppl are, but others are really lacking "customer service skills", it's sad, I believe this location has lost ALOT of their original staff from after remodel during covid & they were sent 2 other locations 2 work & never came...

Friday, April 12, 2024. About 2:30 in the afternoon I pulled up to the drive-through which seem to be very busy through both lanes. After waiting about four minutes with no movement, I decided to go into the restaurant. There was one other guy in line and as usual at McDonald’s it took about three minutes for anyone to come over to the cash register to see what he needed. Turns out he needed just a water and so they got that for him.

I stepped up and ordered two items. I told the lady at the register I did not need the receipt but she told me what my order number was so I had that information. After about five minutes waiting a lady (seemingly the manager judging by the way employees around her cowered) who was standing back from the counter in the food preparation area started screaming out my number. She repeated it twice very quickly as I’m standing there looking at her. She said, “What are you waiting for?” I told her the two items I had ordered and she very angrily shouted back my number again. Now keep in mind. She was not approaching the counter with food or a drink. She was just standing back there angry as hell.

Since McDonald’s has changed the way they do business to more of a carry out and order it yourself type of place, the service has really gone to hell. This McDonald’s at Charles Street in Rockford is worse than any others I have been in. Extremely poorly managed.

Time to stick with...

Idk what is up with this place. I will order ahead of time, 20 minutes ahead of time, and still wait another 20. Half the time, they just "find" my order sitting There in the warmer for god knows how long. NEVER are they busy when I go. Single digits. Low single digits most of the time.

I worked food service for most of my life. They are rude, they are incompetent, they do not care. And I am very very lenient on this stuff because of my experience and knowing it's not a fun job. But there's a line.

They are fully staffed back there. You can watch them just sit on their hands and twiddle their thumbs. No sense of urgency, the opposite. Almost out of spite it seems??

Last time I was there, ordered, waited 30+ minutes, the guy came back to me THREE TIMES asking what I even ordered. As if they didn't even start my order. 30 minutes later. 5 people total.

It's to the point where the management simply has to be replaced. Worst experience at any fast food place in my life and the first time I felt compelled to...
