Captain George Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Rockingham

I went to Captain George's today for the first time. I was excited because I have heard good things about the place. I ordered the pick any 2 with onion rings and cole slaw. I received my take out plate and when I got in the car the first thing I did was look inside per habit. The first thing that I saw was a long hair curled up with my fish and shrimp. Took the plate back inside and asked for a refund, the cashier asked me if I would like another plate. Hell no, so you can do something strange to my food back there in the back where I can not see. No thank you. I have worked at several restaurants and I know first hand what can happen to your food when you send it back, so I will pass. I understand things like this sometimes happen but the guy that's was cooking did not have on a hair net so I am pretty sure someone else will find hair in their food today. Sorry to say I will not be going back there...

My husband & I both ordered the seafood platter & it was TERRIBLE. We live in the Lake Norman area & have a great seafood restaurant in Mooresville that we go to often so we know what good seafood should taste like. The deviled crab looked & tasted like it had been reheated (possibly in the microwave), the shrimp were soggy & probably should have been fried just a little more, the oysters were muddy, mushy & disgusting. The slaw was very ‘mayonnaisey’ but I understand that is a personal preference. The waitress offered to have the kitchen fix us more but because none of it was good we didn’t think asking them to fix more was going to help anything. No adjustments were offered on the price of our meals even though it was obvious we left the very most of our...

They need to update their menu.. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED ABOUT HOUSE SALAD OR COLESLAW IN THE YEARS I'VE BEEN GOING THERE!!!!!!!!!!

And last time I went there they DID NOT give me the hush puppies that are supposed to come with my order AND the extra ones I ordered on the side!!!!!!!!!!

They also forgot my fries which was my side that I ordered with my steak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely shameful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Y'all make me understand why the people in this area are BEGGING for a real steakhouse... Get it together.
