We found Rockingham NC to be dismal in restaurant choices and was quite surprised to find this little Indian and Nepali restaurant in the midst of nowhere. We arrived there after driving around looking for an elegant dining experience and found ZERO places. Then we looked up restaurants on Google and found two that seemed feasible for our tastes. One was an oriental or Thai restaurant that was closed even though Google indicated it was opened. Then out of hunger and desperation we stopped at an ugly and dirty looking Italian restaurant only to be turned away because we had a Service K9 with us. Thank God this happened, and we didn't argue about the unlawfulness of denying service bcs of our K9 Service Animal. We willingly left that gross place and less than a mile down the road, Google directed us to this amazing and beautiful restaurant called Celebrtiy Indian Nepali cuisine. Their dining room was closed and they were only doing take out. We pleaded with them to allow us to eat our take out meals on their small patio and they obliged. Probably because we looked hungry enough to devour a few adults.
WE ordered Naan, both plain and garlic. Loved it. For appetizers, we ordered, lamb samos, vegetable samosa and Samosa Chaat. Very good and housemade. We loved it. Then for dinner there was lamb curry, chicken madras and it was yummilicious. For dessert, we had the classic Gulab Jamun....sweet and perfect to end a really wonderful experience.
Although, it was supposed to be take out, we ate in their patio area and received table service with a super friendly server named Joy. He was sweet and polite. Superb service. The dining room is super clean and pretty. The best part, was their drive up window which consisted of a long viewing window where we can observe the food being made in a very clean, scratch kitchen.
Great experience and best Indian Nepali food that we have experienced in our travels. A must stop and a diamond in the rough. We...
Read moreFirst of all I have to start with the disturbing parking lot situation....
There's a car always parked too close to the disability parking spot which is not OK. Especially in this area. There's a lot of older folks and disabled folks here. Please have a heart and move that car.
I ordered take out the placed looks so tiny I don't know how they would handle a dine in party but anyway....
My portion was small. I got the vindaloo which is something I've been wanting to try ALL YEAR!! It was AMAZING!! It was like really tomato based. Reminded me of spaghetti sauce. So it really hit the spot. I just wish that for the price it was a bigger portion.
This area is one of the poorest in all of NC so I'm not sure how long they are going to be here with those prices and portion sizes. This Indian restaurant in Raleigh has better prices and more of a high end look. So when I saw the prices for this place I laughed. I'll enjoy it while it's here... 🫠🥴
I'm going to pay it though because I love Indian food and I want to have it legit and fresh for once. But I highly doubt they'll last 2 years.
The inside was empty and tiny. Some lady was just sitting in there just chilling. Didn't say anything... 🤔
I'll probably order the rices next. I'll try lamb...
Read moreI had an incredible dining experience at Celebrity Indian Nepali Cuisine (505 S Hancock St, Rockingham, NC 283791) yesterday. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfectly complementing the rich aromas of authentic Indian cuisine. The menu offered a fantastic variety, from creamy butter chicken to perfectly spiced biryani, all bursting with fresh, bold flavors. The naan was soft and perfectly charred, and the mango lassi was a refreshing treat. The staff was attentive, friendly, and happy to guide us through the menu with great recommendations. Portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for such high-quality food. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place is a must-visit! I’ll definitely be...
