Sly's Famous Diner — Restaurant in Rockingham

Disgusting food beware, beware, beware! I took my family here to dine in. When we walked in it was hot and humid. We were greeted by the lady with the cane sitting down. Our waiter with the bald head, red shirt and glasses, he had an attitude. It's as if he wanted to get back to sitting down and watching TV because that's exactly what he was doing before we walked in. Now about the food, it was absolutely disgusting 😭. My son got the fried chicken, my fiance got the fried Chicken as well, and I got the dumplings. The fried Chicken was VERY DRY & cold, I thought the food was served fresh... But it was clearly already made and prepared just sitting. The so-called cornbread was flat like a pancake, tasteless, dry, and you can tell it's been sitting for hours. What's the point of having all of the those employees? I had high hopes for this place and truly wanted to support this black business but you truly can't with our own people. Please y'all, don't waste your hard earned money on this dump. I spent over $50 here. Totally not worth it. I say go to a place like Stephanie's located in Greensboro, Mountain fried Chicken located in Hickory & Winston-Salem. Now their fried Chicken...

The food and customer service was excellent. My mom and I were visiting from out of town and had finished shopping. We went to another restaurant and received horrible customer and did not feel welcomed. So glad for that because we found this little gem!! We were immediately greeted, given menus and as well as told what the specials of the day were. My mom ordered the lemon chicken, cabbage, yams and cornbread fritters. I ordered the fried pork chop, Mac and cheese, rice and gravy and roll. We both enjoyed our meals. My mom tried my Mac and cheese and ordered herself some to go. We also ordered the 12 layer chocolate cake and banana pudding. Oh man, that banana pudding was so delicious! If you like whipped cream and instant pudding, you will love this. My mom like banana pudding the ole school way but not me. We will definitely come back and support this establishment that provides good souther hospitality unlike the first diner we visited. I have a long time friend that lives in Rockingham. I came to visit Mother’s Day Weekend. She had googled different places to eat instead of fast food and came across this place. We went and it was delicious!! We had different things but it was all so good. The restaurant was clean. The staff was very friendly and treated so well!!
