This was hands down the worst fast food experience of my adult life.
Taco Bell has long been a favorite of both my husband and mine. We grew up on Taco Bell as children. We are happy to pay for the nostalgia and our favorite menu items.
The whole experice started with the price of items at this particular Taco Bell. It was so much higher than the one near our home and the one near my work. But as always, it comes down to nostalgia and we are happy to pay for our favorite foods. The wait was excessive as i was ignored for my order at an empyy counter for far longer than I have ever waited before.
The woman who took our order was friendly, and eager to please the customers. As someone who worked fast food before and during the early years of college before starting my career it is important to have friendly workers to lessen the financial impact of feeding seven children and a very hungry husband.
Every Saturday we do a family day and take a short trip and eat lunch and sometimes dinner out. It creates wonderful memories. Today was Taco Bell. For my kids, its usually the 5 dollar boxes and my husband and I get our usual favorites. Usually we spend anywhere from 40-60 at your restaurants to feed our family.
Today we arrived at the taco bell on Sunset in Rocklin,CA. IT was not as clean as other locations and the bathrooms were substandard. I went to order. I noticed the prices and was a little off putting, i didnt understand why the prices were so high. I made my order. When I got to the part where I order food for my husband and myself, I started with our usual order, four double decker taco supremes, a mexi-melt, and a mexican pizza. All our favorites. We knew the menus changed, but i have always been able to order them for an extra charge at every other location we visited.
The lady taking our order said they were not on the menu (the double decker tacos). i said that was fine let me get the taco supreme and add a soft taco shell and beans. She went to ask and was told absolutely not. They would not accomodate any of my favorites...the whole reason i come to Taco Bell and overpay for these items, its all about the memories of our childhood.
I ordered two bean burritos with no onion and was surpised that they allowed to me take off the onion since i couldnt add anything to my crunchy tacos because then it would make a discontinued item. I was angry and upset that as a customer, spending my hard earned money, i could not alter my order in the way i saw fit with ingredients that were readily available on the menu, but i could remove other items with ease.
As someone who spends at least a thousand a year for the priveledge of walking down memory lane and enjoying the food items that makes Taco Bell, well... Taco Bell... I am sad to say that after this treatment, i will now spend my money on other taco places such as Jimboys. The price is the same, but the portions are larger and honestly the food is better suited for adults with Beer on the menu at the restaurants. besides I can alter my order however I want and i am never told no. As long as I pay the extra money of course.
To add insult to injury, the beans were dry and chalky, and my $5 dollar boxes were messily thrown into a bag, without the signature boxes, crushing the gorditas, nacho fries were thrown in without care spilling everywhere. It was a mess.
I have NEVER been more disappointed in a visit at a fast restaurant than...
Read moreHands down, the best Taco Bell I've been to. I just had lunch here with my mom, 2 children, and my little sister.
No one's order was messed up at all. I actually was given extra cheese when I asked for it on my order! No other Taco Bell I've been to has EVER given me extra cheese despite charging me for it. (I usually do drive through and don't discover this fact until I'm already home).
I actually had to stop myself from blurting out, "WOW." I had a mountain of cheese smothering my steak enchirito.
I was a little bit shocked/surprised.
Employees were also very polite and friendly. The place looked very clean. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
The only reason it's not getting 5☆'s is because it IS dated inside, which is most apparent in the mirrorless bathrooms with old gunk left on the tiles from things that used to hang there that have since been removed. (Like the mirror). It's a very... 90's looking inside. BUT as I said, it is clean, and the lobby is well...
Read moreOther than the fact that this place is close to my house there is no reason I would ever come here. Not only is this location incompetent when it comes to getting the food you order correct, they also like to close early. I showed up at 9:36 PM and they were closed, even though they say they're open until 10 PM. This has happened 3 times in the past few months so frankly it's my fault for believing what they say their schedule is. They also enjoy letting people wait in line just to tell them they don't have the ability to make bean burritos or tacos. I don't understand how that's possible seeing as how the majority of their menu consists of at least one of the ingredients required to make a taco or bean burrito. I'm done, never coming...
