The Human Bean — Restaurant in Rocklin

Decent enough coffee but needs some definite fixes to be competitive with the other big brand names. 1st off, and VERY important - You need to add more flavor to the coffee drinks (all of them), because, even though something may be called "vanilla " or "pumpkin" or "maple___" the flavors are SOOO very very vague that you have to stop and focus very hard to even detect the slightest hint of whatever flavor it is that you've ordered. I should easily taste the flavor I've requested without searching my taste buds to no avail. 2nd - Bigger cups please - you need to justify that cost that you're charging us with a competitive size cup so we don't regret not going to Starbucks, or Pete's, or... 3rd - Please don't drop a candied coffee bean in my coffee or plop one on my lid assuming that I want it. ASK. It may be a cutsie novel thing with the company and I understand it's a trademark move, but not everyone appreciates a melted mess to deal with on their lid or a mysterious lump in the bottom of their cup. Fix those things and I'll give 5 stars rating but for now, only 3, mainly because of major lack in flavor. Usually love the Bean, with the exception of once or twice over the years. With that being said, I decided I would share today's experience. I understand being understaffed, which wasn't the issue, so we patiently waited in the only open line. I ordered a peanut butter java chip granita, showing the employee a pic on my phone I got off HB's social media, and was very disappointed. There was not one hint of peanut butter flavor, nor were there any chips that come with the java chip granitas I've had in the past. The lid was a flat style, and not the typical domed ones, but I suppose they could have understandably been out of them. We just weren't told. Hopefully next time, HB can redeem...

First Human Bean drive-thru I stopped at in quite awhile—& the 1st time at this newer location—& I can’t recommend it highly enough!

The young ladies that helped me were cheerful genuinely happy human beings (😉) & they had WHOLE MILK, which many places do not, these days

My 16oz hot latte was made promptly &—while it was a touch too hot (don’t want to burn the milk!)—it still tasted good 👍

To top it off they gifted me some chocolate espresso beans to sample AND were kind enough to give me a gift certificate for a free drink on my next visit since it was my first timevisiting this location. IT WILL NOT BE MY LAST 🤗
