Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant - Rockmart — Restaurant in Rockmart

My family and I have gone here several times in the past and everything was great the atmosphere and the food. Unfortunately it's been several months since our last visit and my husband and I decided to come for our Anniversary and it was horrible. Yeah it's really beautiful inside but service and food was not great. When we got there we had to wait several minutes to be seated even though the lady at the counter seen us. We sat down and had to wait like 5-7 minutes just for someone to take our drink order. Then we had to wait again just to make our food order. We already new what we wanted to order when we sat down. This place is not consistent with the cheese dip. Sometimes they give you the seasoned chips with the cheese dip and a lot of the times they down, and I love them chips. Well we finally was able to order and the food arrived really quick almost too quick. My husband had lettuce on his taco which was stated multiple times no lettuce, so they took his plate and he was left to watch me eat while he waited. The he got his food. I don't know what happened to the food or whether they got knew cooks but it was absolutely horrible. The rice had a smoky like burnt scorched taste the them. The beans were salty and I had to scrap all the topping off of my bean burrito because it just tasted really bad like spoiled product. This is for our visit at the Las Palmas in Rockmart. We frequent the Las Palmas in Rome and have never been disappointed in the service or food. We decided to try the newly opened Las Palmas in Rockmart for lunch.... totally disappointed! Nice atmosphere and not alot of people were there when we arrived. We ordered our drinks, me an iced tea and my wife a Sangria. Got my iced tea right away but the sangria showed up a good 10 mins later cuz the waitress said they had to look up how to make it.....what!! A Mexican restaurant and no Sangria. We ordered and received our food. My wife's meal was supposed to come with warmed tortillas and she even reminded the food runner when he delivered the food. No tortillas and no waitress to be found to find out where they were and again a good 10 mins later the tortillas arrived. By that time my wife's food was cold.....if the dish is supposed come with tortillas, bring them out with the food, not an after thought. Disappointed in the Rockmart location. Guess we'll be heading to Rome for the better...

EDIT : SO last night . experience was lack luster. My daughters meal came near the end of the visit. I waited and reminded the waitress 2x ( kids cheese burger meal ). i waited until she got her food to eat, so i didn't enjoy that. Hungry 8 year olds are so much fun. I do understand that 2 very large parties came into our section while we were there. And the mariachi band was a great diversion. THANK YOU! THEY WERE SO FUN!!!! they sang and included the children.they were dressed impeccably . 100 % 5 stars for them. The clown was a nice touch he made a unicorn balloon for my kiddo. ( scared me to death bc it was not expected that a clown was to assend upon us, and i jumped 5 feet high, lol clown phobia? I have no idea. Maybe a touch. ) but still cool for my kiddo.
