So I believe this is my first 1 star review I’ve ever left on Google. 15 years I worked in the restaurant industry and I have to feel deeply disturbed to leave a bad review but tonight I walked in after leaving the hospital with my wife and 10 month old after my infant had a seizure to just be ignored for quite some time. I thought I was just waiting as they may have had everyone come in at once and I am a patient person. Finally I was told we’re not doing to go orders.
Let me just say they handed a regular customer a to go order as I was coming in.
It’s late I get it, and we have been at the hospital all day and neither my wife nor myself wanted McDonald’s but that’s what we had to do bc the staff basically didn’t care if we were not going to eat in then we were not getting food.
This makes no sense. My guess is the average to go order must not tip as well. But in my case they likely lost out on the biggest tip of the night as being an industry guy I always tip big.
The issue I have isn’t that they wouldn’t do a to go order. It’s that they ignored me standing there like they wanted me to just walk out instead of telling me when I came in that I had to eat in. I own a business and I don’t understand the lack of work ethic that creates this type of employee. If they owned the restaurant and that customers payment went to their bills I can almost bet the answer would have been were busy it may be a 20/30 min wait. Not we’re not doing to go orders for a pregnant wife and a...
Read moreI often order ahead... id say 3 out of 5 times the order is exactly what i ordered.. the other 40% there is always one little thing wrong.. great food. friendly and nice staff.. just need to be a little more attentive to details.
Oh and don't go late-night. Once at around 2am i decided to go get some food.. the grill was down.. no problem.. ill settle for a bowl of cheese grits and a dr pepper.. The lady that made the grits was nice and was trying to add a little somethin to my plate, i know.. but it ended up like eating cheese with a little bit of grits - still good tho - so no real complaints there.. now the waitress.. she stood over me and talked at me the entire time i was trying to eat. she has a loud voice and i much rather would have eaten crackers in the dark than sit next to her talking the entire time.
Not even a week later i went there to get some food at like midnight before going to work the night shift.. on a Saturday.. the grill was down again for scheduled maintenance.. come on management! on a Saturday night? why not 3 am on Sunday and post a sign a few days before.. we all know that people go drinking on Saturday and like to finish at a waffle house no? overall my rating of the place and how its managed has gone consistently and considerably down since ive been here (about...
Read moreI have been to this establishment twice, first time was ok only because of our waitress. Tonight I went back thinking it would be better because it is Saturday night. WRONG! My food came out 8 minutes before my fiance's, was barely edible and just thrown together. Slop. Seen our very rude waitress let another table put their fingers in the tortillas and then serve them to another table. Feeling like I need to vomit as I type this. And speaking of the waitress, when I started questioning her about the prices, she became very hostile. I put my hand up and asked her to walk away, she responded by saying "or what". My fiance had to step in and tell her to back off. Are you kidding me?! And let me mention that I have worked at waffle House before. I didn't hear a greeting, didn't hear orders being called out or called back, which is one of the trademarks of the waffle House brand. There needs to be a owner/management upgrade so a customer can leave feeling at least half satisfied. Stay...
