Asia Taste Jumbo Jumbo Cafe — Restaurant in Rockville

Very sad and laughable for a Taiwanese restaurant with a name that does not reflect the friendly warmth of Taiwanese people. The same server, a Taiwanese(she claimed) who already had many poor reviews, still works here.

She seems to dislike people but love their money as she bossed her customers in a state of imagined higher snobby attitude.

It was after lunch when there were no lines at all. As the only customer, we reviewed the menu which annoyed her and unleashed a string of aggressive attitude from her. She took our order with impatient hurriness as she cut off our questions about the items. We wanted to add an advertised item seen on the counter, and inquire about the price. She answered, very curtly, “It is on the menu, find it yourself, I don’t have time to tell you!!” There were no customers behind us, and the phone wasn’t ringing.

I asked her when the dine-in option would open and she answered, “Never!!” Woah, that immediately confirmed she was in a foul mood. I kindly asked her, ”Are you ok? You seem to be upset.” She answered, “I am very happy working here!!” She proceeds to bang around the ice machine as she makes our drinks.

The “customer is ALWAYS RIGHT” attitude was not taught to her. She does not realize that without us, she would not have an income. The owner is not her boss, the paying customers are her real bosses who pay her salary.

We live in a world with consequences, so I would not recommend this place after finding that many reviewers had been treated poorly and the management never apologized nor improved her attitude since. If others continue to accept her attitude, we are contributing to her failure personality.

As for food, Jumbo-Jumbo barely survives in a state of mediocre limbo and occupies a space where other restaurants could prosper in its place.

There are many other tasty Taiwanese restaurants nearby with the right customer service that will prosper while Jumbo will utterly fail, an ironic name “好客來”, translate as...

So I have been here many times. Im usually in and out. I have never tried the food but from the smell i assume its very good. I always order the same thing "honeydew bubble tea" with milk. Every time its very good taste like honeydew. This last time I went I ordered a medium one which I paid for before they made it. It was not green and it did not taste like honeydew. So I paid for a second one of the same size. The person who made it showed me what was clearly a honeydew labled squeeze bottle whos contents were green. The preparer gave me a small although I paid for a second medium. (Really no biggie because they offered it for free, but I did not accept) So the thing here is it tasted bad. I have had them before here and they were fine. Just saying that if a customer complained some one should try the product at least no? And I dont mean odrink from my straw i mean make a small for you, this way you can know whats wrong. Is it missing sugar? Is it too many bubbles? Is the milk expired? Anything really is much better than just...

I always go here since its convenient for my lunch break. But The owner lady have a bad attitude. Two bad encounters I had with her. The first time I complained about how the winter melon milk that I ALWAYS GET tasted soooo bitter. She said oh thats how its supposed to taste like.. LADY IVE ORDERED THIS MAYBE 10-15 times before. I know what its supposed to taste like. The husband ended up remaking it for me. Then today, when i was placing my order. Im the type of person that says the whole order in full, Drink, size and toppings at once.
