3rd Visit in a 7 months period. Party of four. While restaurant seemed to in about 30% occupancy around 8.40 pm Saturday.
Started with a host who was not patient enough of enquiries.
( Not certain if the reply on this thread is going to be āwe are under-staffedā , because I do-not see any occupancy limitation alerts due to limited staffing.but here is a recommendation. If this specific restaurant is understaffed,they should limit the occupancy )
Well lit casual dinner ambience. Well decorated dining space with a fine view of most of the hot kitchen. Seating is very comfortable and not much of wait to be seated or attended. Although the Host wasnāt patient enough respond to questions. When asked about pastry looking food displayed at a counter next to the host table, she turned and looked at the person and replied with sarcasm , āIt is aā¦. Stromboliā while not patient enough to explain the availability , contents or pricing. It was unorthodox that a well displayed item that caught our attention and we were turned down with poor treatment.
Host gave us our table of choice. In about few seconds our waitress appeared. And she seem to be irritated at first ( understand the restaurant has been busy on a Saturday evening, not sure why a paying customer has to make sacrifices on a restaurant experience due to inefficient restaurant planing )She gave our menus and came back for our orders. Did mot enquire about allergies or requirements ,No soup of the day, didnāt care to offer recommendations, while taking orders she seemed annoyed and impatiently repeated Next! , Next!, Next! to each of us after every person!!!! Not sure if it is a tradition in this side of the country but certainly a new experience for me. Hopefully the management will come up with something more creative and less offensive.
Although we didnāt made any remarks on her at the table waitress came back with bread basket and sincerely apologized to us for the way she was attending us. Which was a nice. She mentioned that it has been a busy day for her and she is exhausted. Hope to have both servers and customers get treated with efficient planing in near future.
Bread basket is the best I had in about 30mi radius.They really nailed it. Ordered a Manhattan with Makers mark, cosmopolitan. 1/2lbs meatball , salmon Picatta , Eggplant parmesan and baked Ziti.
Salmon was perfectly cooked and such a nice portion with capes and Spinaches perfect temperature inside and out. Really enjoyed the pasta came with it 3/5 . Baked Ziti was a fine job, such a big portion that we had leftover to carry out. Tasted very good 4/5
Egg plant parmesan was cold when it reached the table although it tasted nice. 2/5
Meatball is such a huge portion, it is ok interns of taste. But it was also served cold. 2/5
Manhattan was poorly proportioned.I couldnāt taste anything except the bourbon in it. 1/5 Cosmo was ok 3/5
We had leftover take-away food that was packed very nicely by our server.creative way of packing made carry out an ease. Unlike other restaurants in DMV area where they will had over you a bag and a container on the table and you are on your own. This really touched us as a customer. Kudos team for this practice.
As walking out of the restaurant the young gentleman at the kitchen counter wished us the greeting for that evening and thanked us for dining there. Such a nice approach.
Generally very hygienic, cutleries and crockeries were very conventional yet convenient. But love the interior decor.
Previous visits were satisfactory and the food was good. But sadly our most recent visit was disappointing.
Verdict: a Fairly priced Italian restaurant in the region easy access from Gaithersburg, Rockville,Wheaton, Kentlands and North potomac areas. You have to be specific about your requirements, may be have to repeat it more than once.decent food quality and this is some place to have a social space over dinner.
Wish they had a cocktail / bar menu. Staff requires training. Convenient parking. Faster kitchen...

Simple two slices. The girl asked me my name and told me to give her a minute since my order wasnt ready. I waited... 30 minutes later I speak up because im seeing other people ask for a slice and get served within minutes. All for my pizza to be sitting on top of the oven the entire time. Unreal. Not to mention it was not worth the money for these small slices that have been sitting out all day just reheated.
Maybe invest in a rope to help with the line. This was an awful experience. what made it worse was the attitude of these girls. They just talked to each other the entire time. I was made to feel like I was bothering them. If this is a family staffed restaurant then your own family will be your demise. Like I know y'all are busy I can see, but you know Iāve been standing here way too long for a pick up. A little basic customer service goes a long way.
Not to mention the pizza was stale and over cooked. How do you offer slices on your menu and serve them inedible??? Iāve had frozen pizza that tasted better. The crust was so over cooked it was solid as a rock! This was my first and LAST time here. Reading the other negative reviews make a lot of sense.
