No contest ~ Chico's is my favorite Mexican restaurant! Located at City Lake in the refurbished Power Plant on the Tar River, it is unique for that alone as far as its location. Once inside, you appreciate its open air floor plan, multi-level seating atmosphere, and that is just a few examples of how it is out of the ordinary in more ways than one. Everything I have eaten here has been the best quality and taste standards. I usually order the Chicken Picado: Strips of chicken sautéed with bell peppers, onions, & tomatoes. {your choice of hot, medium, or mild}, which comes with Refried Beans and Rice. Delicious! Every visit you get bottomless complimentary homemade chips and salsa, but I always order guacamole to go with mine... because they have the best guac I have ever tasted! Of course, the dessert Chocolate Chimichanga is absolutely tasty and so, so sweet you have to share it! I have always had a pleasant dining experience at Chico's ~ the staff has always been professional, courteous, and obliging. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal in a pleasant atmosphere with...
Read moreI would not go back to this restaurant if I was paid. We walked in and we're sat pretty quickly. Got to the table waited about 5 mins for a waitress to acknowledge us. We got sat beside a big party whom were very loud and rude. We have 2 children and they heard all kinds of vulgar and indecent words. So we got our drinks and food...my husband ordered a salad which was warm and didn't have any dressing. Our waitress didn't fill our drinks without asking, she also didn't clean our table off. She left a tray behind our table the whole time so my husband ended up removing the dirty plates. Before we left we found out the bathrooms were disgusting. There was feces all over the toilet and urine on the floor. I told the manager about the bathrooms and service and he could have cared less. I usually don't rate restaurants negatively but I couldn't help it especially since this was for...
Read moreHorrible experience, tortillas were cold to the point of breaking, bean soup bowl dirty and poorly served, juice all over the outside of the bowl. What's worst is the fact that their cups are dirty or something grows inside. We asked for a glass cup and we were denied the glass cups. Told by one of the owners daughter (manager) they are just for the bar. Never did the manager offer an apology. The Tampiquena tacos were served with 1/3 of the usual meet amount. I was a.patton for 25 years. If you want a place to meet and drink go for it. The love and quality that the food had is no longer there. Just generation X kids playing servers and managers part. No real uniform, because most if them don't wear it proudly and clean. Too bad it was a great place to eat. That is if you care for quality in...
