A friend & I went there in support of a fundraiser for a program at many of our public schools. We both have heard good things about this restaurant, and thought this was a win-win.
When we got there, we informed the hostess of why we were there, and she claimed she had no idea what we were talking about.
We were seated, and told the waiter why we were there. He too had no idea, but he did get the manager for us.
The manager informed us that it was take-out only. He then told us we could have a meal to go if we want. So obviously they knew about the fundraiser.
We said no, but our suspicions were raised. We pulled up the flyer on our phones, and nowhere did it say there was takeout only.
We then showed it to the waiter. He claimed that the words dine out really meant takeout. At that point my friend, who spoke fluent Spanish, asked me if it a cultural thing or a slang. The waiter then said are you saying that because we're Mexican?
It was then we decided to leave. He went to get the manager, who sent a message back to us that we were free to go on our way. Like he could ever stop us, since we did not order our meals. He didn't even have the respect to come and talk to us.
So we went to another restaurant on the list that was nearby. Every single person we talk to who worked at that restaurant knew exactly why we were there, even showed the little signs that they had put up around the tables showing that they were supporting the schools.
I also found out from others that they too went to the restaurant that evening, and the manager /owner didn't even bother to speak to them when they questioned whether or not the restaurant was supporting this fundraiser.
By the way, the other restaurant was fabulous. I ate there before, and enjoyed it, but wanted to try something new. My friend, who has never been to this establishment, loved it!
This was my first, and last experience at this restaurant. I...
Read moreMy family and I've been customers there for a while now. The first time there they forgot something on my mom's order. He gave her the missing items they next time she came back. So we thought no problem. We always spend $60+. I always get the #2 family meal for my children that's what they always eat. Last month, I called in and pickup in drive thru. Got home, realized they forgot 2 items from that order. On top of that my food I ordered was cold. I couldn't warm it up because it had sour cream, lettuce, guac and pico on it. I called the manager which is really a nice guy. Complained of the issue. I was told he'd give me 2 large bag of chips and throw in some queso. That was a month ago. Tonight was treat night Mexican of course. I went in instead of drive thru. I mentioned it to the manager about items missing with my last order and he didn't remember saying that and he knows my name. Which I'd think you were suppose notate things like that. However, sadly to say, tonight they lost 7 customers. I order family meal, and three other menu items. I spent $80 tonight only for my daughter to find hair in the burritos under the cheese. I called the manager again expressing my concern and he made it seem like the hair was mine b/c he didn't know how it could've gotten there. He said his cooks wore hats and face mask. I'm a very honest woman I have no need to get over on anyone. Me and my daughter's hair are braided. Ask yourself, a place you always go, food you've craved and spent that kind of money, why would you put straight black hair in it. My children lost their appetite. How would that benefit a hungry household. Oh and the rice had some type of plastic looking thing in it. The pics are attached also. Very upset, hate for them to loose our business but my husband and I motto is 3...
Read moreAfter waiting at El Jimador on Friday night for 50 minutes I finally got my food. I ordered over the phone and went through the drive-thru. I was told to pull up and wait because they were still making my food. My wife eventually had to go inside to get the food they never brought out to us. She was told they had a party of 40 in there and they were slammed. That’s not my problem. My food should be just as important as anyone else’s no matter the size of the party. When we got home we discovered the food was not edible. The steak inside the tacos was like chewing leather and my sons nacho chips plate was soggy and the chicken was over cooked. We called and talked to Francisco. He told us to come back the following day and he would give us a full refund. We go to the restaurant today with the uneaten food and he only offered to give us half of our total bill back which was 30 dollars. Then he requests we give them another chance. This is not the first time he has done this either. One time before he promised a full refund and only gave us 20 dollars back. Everything on the menu has gone up but the service has not. If I can’t trust your word I will not spend my money with you. Just go to El Tapatio at least they appreciate your business
EDIT UPDATE TO REPLY: You apologize and ask for me to give your restaurant a second chance. I did give you a second chance and it was you that didn’t live up to your end of the deal. You promised a full refund and I drove 20 miles to get half of my money back. With gas at $4 a gallon I actually lost money. That’s not how you do business. Don’t worry my family, friends, and anyone else that will listen to me will never darken your...
