Mario's Pizza & Restaurant — Restaurant in Rocky Mount

I would like to begin by openly stating that I have never written a bad review in my life..!

Whenever I hear about or come across a pizza shop in my travels I tend to check it out due to the fact that I LOVE pizza...NY Style (my hometown), Chicago deep dish, thin crust...I love it all. So regardless of what the restaurant has on their menu I judge my experience on the quality of the pizza before anything else...And with a solid name like "Mario's" boasting "NY Style" right on their menu, giving it a shot was a no brainer........what a mistake!

This was THE WORST pizza I've had since moving to N.C. over 2 yrs ago. In fact, it may be the poorest excuse for a pizza I've ever come across, frozen pizza included! I ordered 2 large pies. One w/ extra cheese & pepperoni and one w/ extra cheese and bacon. . . I should have looked @ them before driving home. My receipt stated "extra cheese" but my pizzas definitely did not! Doughy crust and dry overall. Bad, bad, bad.... I took a menu w/ me on the way out...Needless to say I immediately ripped it up after eating my disappointing dinner...A meal that was in fact eaten and not trashed only because I paid hard earned money for it...but never again!

I'll be sticking w/ Italian Pizzaria on Stone Rose Dr from here on..or at least until curiosity gets the best of me and I venture out...

We went today to have a late lunch. When we arrived there was no other tables in the establishment. The hostess sat us. The waitress arrived 5 minutes after we sat and took our drink order and appetizers order. During this time a group of 4 people got sat by the hostess. The waitress went to them after she left us. She came back 5 minutes later with the other tables drinks in hand to ask what we ordered to drink and to let us know our appetizer was ready. We told her our drinks again. She then went to the other table and gave their drinks and took there order. After waiting and waiting she heads our way with the appetizer and stops and realizes after she sees us that we still don't have drinks. She turns around and goes to fix our drinks. She finally arrives after waiting 20 minutes with our drinks and a COLD appetizer. Which was fried mozzarella so it was a huge disappointment. When we realize how cold it was we decided to leave because obviously she was not worried about helping us at all. Horrible part of everything was we discovered this place last night and the food was so good we decided to go back today. Unfortunately we will not be back until the waitstaff situation is fixed. All she had to say when we told...

I will not be going here anymore and I’ll advise others to go elsewhere. My family and I came here for lunch and while the “lunch menus” reflect a much cheaper price, I was charged the regular amount. When I addressed this with the manager she states “the lawyer told us we don’t have to update the actual prices listed in the menu since we have a clause on the front stating prices have increased”. My problem with this is, I’m basing my check off of the prices you have listed but because of a broad clause you can technically charge me $15 for a sandwich if you want to no matter what the price is listed as in the menu. If the prices that are listed in the menu aren’t true then how about remove all the prices altogether. It’s misleading and false advertisement. I don’t care what your lawyer says you can “get away with”, you clearly have no care for your customers if you can’t take the time to go in and update the prices. It’s not good for business. The service was already slow with attitudes so like I said, I’ll be taking my services elsewhere and I’ve been a regular customer...
