Japanese tofu with two mushrooms 🍄 was great 🌟 5 stars Salt n pepper smelts and tofu also 5 stars ⭐️ Everything else was pretty mediocre 2. Green beans a bit old and lacking in freshness Eggplant 🍆 in garlic sauce has very little eggplant but plenty of onion fillers The pineapple 🍍 fried rice used to be their signature but this last order was literally some old rice with veggies that didn’t blend in too well Pepper beef 😞😞😞 most of the dish was bones which is not a bad thing if the meat is done ok. However the meat was stringy and after some chewing, it just won’t break. We dumped it. I do want to support local business and hope they will reduce the number of dishes and cook great tasting food like they used to. .

I used to love eating here, but I don’t know what happened. recently they have been giving me some very light color fried rice twice now and it taste very bland. I call before about it and they came with it better and now here we go again 😢. I don’t wanna keep complaining .idk if there might be a new person cooking but This was my “go to”Chinese place but now I need to find another one. ….Ps. I ordered combination fried rice. I don’t know if they all like that though. And I barely see any green onions. HOWEVER!! I lovvveeeee the egg rolls

The best always!! Use to eat in the restaurant but now delivery only. The quality has been the same for years and years. I am one happy Customer. Ordered the Shrimp fried rice, Shrimp Egg Foo Young, Crab rangoon, and Vegetable egg rolls.. So Delicious!!! I tip well as I am so happy with their service, etc.

I order from Eng’s rather frequently. While it is certainly not the best Chinese food by any means, it’s close to home & I stick to ordering the same dishes.

Today, I decided to try their Beef Lo Mein. I picked up my order, brought it home & the dish smelled & tasted like seafood. The meat itself smelled as if it were stored or cooked with fish. Plus, this is not the first time I have experienced this from Eng’s. Rather than toss a $9.00 container of food, I decided to call Eng’s & alert them to the problem this time.

The younger woman who answered the phone listened to me explain my situation & then insisted there was no seafood in the dish. I explained that while I believe she thinks that, the beef in my meal smells clearly of fish & that I would not be eating it. She consulted with an older woman regarding the matter, came back to me & again said there was no seafood, but maybe I was tasting garlic. Ummm, no. I again clearly stated that as a customer who orders from them regularly, I can assure them that I am tasting seafood. Her response was “OK, thank you”.

I’m willing to give any restaurant a pass on one bad meal. In fact, in the case of Eng’s, I’ve turned a blind tastebud more than a few times! However, there is no excuse for blatant disregard for a customer! Eng’s had a chance to make it right by offering me a refund or in-restaurant credit, but they offered nothing but excuses. For that reason, I WILL...

They couldn't pay me enough to eat there again! I have probably eaten there an average of twice a month for the last several years. I placed an order at 4:04 and was advised to pick up in 15 minutes. I arrived 15-20 minutes later and paid for the food. I waited another 10 minutes and asked about the status of my order. The girl grabbed a copy of the ticket and went back to he kitchen. All of a sudden 3 girls were talking to each other and 1 had my ticket in her hand and made a phone call. I asked if my takeout order went out for delivery and was advised no. I asked where my food was and got no answer. A few minutes later or 45 minutes after my phone call. the driver comes in with a bag of food. The girl brings it into the kitchen for 30 seconds and comes back out trying to hand me food that already left the restaurant. I asked for a refund and explained food that left the restaurant cannot be reused. The said they would make me fresh food but at that point, I advised that they should have made me fresh food as soon as they knew my food had mistakenly left the store. They gave me my refund but I can no longer trust them nor give...

Hard to believe but not easy to get really good Chinese food in this area. Great Beijing has gotten so bad I don't even go anymore. There was a place on Touhy called Happy Chef that just closed its doors after 30 years, and for 20 of those years the food was great, but it was bad for past several months. Guess their hearts weren't in it anymore. Mee Mah's is still on Peterson, and they have the best egg rolls in the city, but the rest off the food is so-so.......So how 'bout Eng's ? Really very good....and as you see I know my Chinese food. I have a sweet 80 year old widow neighbor that's a Chinese immigrant. I asked her flat out out where I can get "awesome" Chinese food in the city.....She didn't hesitate before saying. "Chinatown, dummy" .....But if you don't wanna drive, or you want fast and friendly delivery, and 4 outta 5 star food,...
