I have not been to this specific store, but the one we went to on Lawrence is not on Yelp. However, I had an absolutely awful experience with delivery, which is the same owner for all the DCI Furniture stores. They have no idea what customer service/satisfaction means.
We had a good experience buying furniture - we bought a set of a coffee table and two side tables, and was told they would be delivered assembled. When they were delivered (it was 2 days delayed, but not a big deal), the delivery folks refused to assemble it. I had to keep calling back the owner and store manager to find out what happened. Then the owner said he would send some people back later that night to assemble the tables. They never showed up. When I called back the next day, he said he would send them out that day.
I kept calling back and eventually 2 guys showed up. They parked in temporary parking in my building. They then came up to our apartment, opened all the boxes, then declared they couldn't assemble it because they were told it was only a coffee table, when in fact there were also 2 side tables. Then they told me our building's delivery coordinator told them they had to leave, except I called and she told me they could stay - and I certainly believe her more than them. The guys proceeded to yell in the apartment and loudly complain he wanted to shoot himself. At that point, it was clear he wasn't going to assemble it and was just yelling around the apartment, so we politely asked him to leave.
After that, we called back the owner to express our extreme dissatisfaction (to say the least). Since they had already opened all the boxes but didn't assemble/clean up anything, while my husband was on the phone with the owner, I set up the coffee table and 1 side table - it was super easy and quick to put together which is why it was so absurd the folks refused to set them up. We continually called the owner and the sales person from the original store for a refund of $50 assembly fee, to no avail, even though we were continually promised "a check in the mail."
The store owners might be nice people, but the delivery folks and owners are so unprofessional and have no idea what it means to have good customer service. Go...
Read moreI recently bought 3 different furniture from this place. I had requested for delivery and paid delivery charge as well. But unfortunately one of the furniture item couldn’t fit and go through the elevator where I live. Then I requested delivery person to return it. The next day I went to store to see if there is any other item with smaller dimension. I didn’t like any other item they have. So I requested them for refund cause I want to see from other stores. But the lady on counter said they will charge 35% cancellation fee which wasn’t told me before. They should have told me almost half of the price would be the cancellation fee. Now I was forced by their rule of no refund to see other item they have. I select one item which was smaller than the item I ordered previously. For that the price was higher than previous too. I asked the lady if she can provide some discount on it cause it was really smaller than the previous. She talked to her supervisor and gave some discount however it was still more than before. On top of that I have to pay delivery charge again which I didn’t mind paying. I requested lady the number of her supervisor if I can talk to him but she just called and said that I want to talk to him, he refused to talk to me and ask her to give me $25 discount. So their main focus is to sell item at any cost where customer satisfaction doesn’t make any difference to them. Read moreDon't go there for mattresses!!!!!! I liked a mattress from their showroom and it was a luxury one so I was very surprised that they were willing to sell it to me for 280$. Next day, they called me twice that the delivery would be delayed and I knew that there is something suspicious. 5 hours later than the scheduled delivery, they delivered me a different mattress. It looked like a fake Serta. It was looking almost the same, the top of the mattress was the same but the quality was different. I went back to ask them why they sent me a different mattress and their answer was that it was the same mattress because the name on the label was the same as the name on the receipt they gave me when I purchased it. They tried to convince me that I was probably confused because I was looking at many types of mattresses. They said that I didn't take a picture of the mattress when we made the deal so I have no proof that the mattress I got was different from the one I purchased. I called to complain and their manager started screaming on the phone that he would send his driver to bring me my money and to take back the 5 star mattress but of course that didn't happen so I decided not to argue with them anymore and kept the mattress. I wanted to save some money and buy a mattress from a small business but I overpaid for a fake Serta and I ended up buying a 220$ mattress topper.
