UPDATE: So, I’m changing my review to this restaurant and here is why. My family and I went there today for dinner. This is not the first time we get terrible totopos/tortilla chips that taste terrible! You can tell they were made with old oil! Well, of course we said something and we got a “new bowl” with more chips that were exactly the same as the previous ones. They even smelled funny. And well, the waiter never asked if these were any better or apologised. Mexican restaurants are known for offering totopos and salsa while you wait on your order, and this is honestly super disappointing. Tortas were OK, and beer was good, but I’m not changing my review unless I go again and get proper chips and salsa. We've eaten at El García more than a couple times, and have ordered take away, too. All the different foods we've tried have been really good. Also, their prices are really reasonable. Their tacos, burros, nachos, queso fundido, enchiladas, margaritas, etc. are great!
The place is OK, they have some parking space, and the service is very good! I know they just opened, but maybe some more decoration on their walls would be nice.
I'd give them 5 stars, but we were not very happy the last time we went there. It was my birthday, and I asked if they had any specials. The waitress goes and ask and comes back and tells us we can purchase dessert, and they'd sing happy birthday. I personally don't think there's anything special about that... I guess they should have cut a third of one of their cakes and given it to us. How much is a piece of cake? How much is the happiness of your customers? You can get 30 candles for a dollar at the dollar store...
Another reason for me not to give them 5 stars, well, it is that their flour tortillas are store bought, and they have preservatives. This is very common in the...
Read moreThe private parking lot made it easy to park. I spotted outdoor seating to the south of the restaurant. An overhang structure over the black metal tables made it look like a protective, cozy spot to enjoy nice weather without getting hit with excess sun/rain/wind. Upon walking in, we were asked to seat ourselves. It felt modern and clean with dark wooden tables and original artwork hanging on the walls. The bar in the back was lit up beautifully. Two tvs hung on either side. Surprisingly, the paper menus that were handed to us were tattered and slightly dirty (considering everything else was clean and neat). Lots of open seating available at tables, high tops, or in front of the bar. Around dinnertime the restaurant started filling up slowly. Lots of carry out orders. Unfortunately, the restroom needed more attention regarding supplies, but was clean otherwise. Food was served hot, and tasted delicious. It was served on beautiful plates in big proportions. I was hoping for less "American-style" additions to my tacos, but I think it was still delicious anyways. My leftovers were just as tasty the next day. The rice was amazing with an authentic flavor. The horchata was amazing and one of the creamiest ones I have had. I wish I had a refill of it...
Read moreThe worst service ever, we were there for our dinner and we had to wait 30 minutes until the waitress came and clean the table, after long time waiting I went inside and asked them if someone is going to attend us and finally someone came to our table. Around 1:00 we were waiting again for the waitress and whe she showed up she was totally drunk, the worst part of this was when the person of charge of the restaurant saw her drunk he put her in her car and asked her to go home,I don't know how he decided to do that if obviously she wasn't in good condition for driving a car. Yesterday we went back with a group of 8 people and again we were waiting and nobody came to us, my husband went inside and asked the person who was in the bar and asked her if someone could come to our table and she said "you must wait because I'm working alone today. I didn't believe what I was listening, I just asked my husband and friends to go to the restaurant across the street. This is sad because we love their margaritas, I hope someone come to the rescue of...
