Fuqua's Southern Soul Food — Restaurant in Rogersville

My spouse and I found this place looking online for nearby eats, June 27th, at about 1:30pm, a few others inside, we were amazed by the folks working there, the food (all you can eat) tasted like our Grandma's cooking, fried chicken, short ribs, Mac n cheese, mash taters, pimtos, baked beans, broccoli, blackeye peas, corn bread patties, plus other that we didn't eat. The lady who was cooking, I asked her if the cornbread patties were potato patties, she made a potato patty and brought it to me piping hot for me to try, it had similar crust of the fried chicken, it was delicious and I wished I had another. Several of the people working there made sure we didn't run low/out of drink, water, food. Oh, I had a few servings of various desserts, I wished I had a bigger belly lol. As we we're leaving the parking lot, the hostess came running out, my husband had left his cap (a gift from a gaming friend) We will be going back, hopefully after 4pm to sample the seafood buffet that was posted all over, doors, walls, and the hostess telling us. Looking this place has the absolute best fried pork chops, period. Southern fried pork chops. I drove from the most middle of Tennessee to get these pork chops. Sad to say, I arrived to country fried steaks or cubed steak and gravy fried Chicken and meat loaf to which was great too but, they were yesterday. This next part speaks to the staff off this place. When I entered it is as I have always noticed. I did bring my FIL with me. So it was as I told him the gentleman said as always “Come on in! I hope y’all are hungry!!”. But once I was finished I went to pay and told them how I’m saddened that I missed those pork chops. The host asked me if I wanted her to fry some….what!?. I at first told her no. I don’t want them to work just for my request but she insisted. 5 minutes later. She brought me some fried pork chops. The service was absolute awesome. The food, chef’s kiss. Go here please...

Some friends of ours and my wife and I ate there last month and the food was good and service was ok but the restrooms and dining area could use a good cleaning. 11/2/24 same couple with us wanted to take us out for our anniversary and we wanted to patronize them again as they are a mom and pop business. The selection was considerably slacking with some items not enough a serving, our drinks were never refilled and the floor was filthy. None of us us bem I’m ed the restrooms but judging by the appearance of the dining area they were probably pitiful as well. Very disappointed on the visit and probably our last.Apparently the food cops have never checked this place out.I am hoping the kitchen is cleaner than the rest...
