We have given Miguel and his staff a lot of business over the last couple years, especially because of the great waffles. But since the pandemic, the diner has fallen off. After the initial pandemic lockdown, my family ordered curbside breakfast from the diner, and after eating a quarter of our meal, discovered that ants were infested in the syrup. Miguel was very apologetic and remade our order and served us sealed syrup packets versus the syrup that was served in-house. We decided to give the diner another chance. But the ladies who answer the phone are rude and short, especially if you have questions or make modifications to your order. Bad customer service! We ignored that though, because unfortunately, lots of customer service is struggling these days, but today, I made the decision to take my business elsewhere in the future after being served BURNT pancakes. I tried to eat them but they were dry and gross so I called back to request a replacement order. Miguel apologized and offered to replace them. So, my husband went back to the diner once more to pick them up and showed Miguel the burnt pancakes in comparison. Both Miguel and his cook denied responsibility for the pancakes being burnt and told my husband that nothing was wrong with the pancakes. BIG MISTAKE! To me, that is a huge sign of disrespect to a regular paying customers. So since they want to defend their burnt pancakes, my family is no longer interested in dining at this struggling restaurant. After the corona lockdown, when the diner opened back up the food hasnât been the same. We have had undercooked omelets when we ordered them well done. We order the pancakes often, most recently we ordered pancakes and the ones we received were burnt. Miguel apologized and offered to remake them. When we took them back Miguel and the cook both disagreed with us and claimed that âthe pancakes always looked like that.â When we got our replacement pancakes from the diner there was plastic in them.
