Restaurant Review: Disappointing Service but Great Food
I recently visited this restaurant, hoping for a great dining experience, but unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. From the start, the waiter, Carlos, took an unreasonably long time to get to our table. When he finally arrived, he seemed rushed and irritated for no apparent reason. We decided to overlook his attitude, as we were more focused on enjoying the food.
When we ordered drinks, we waited quite a while, only to notice Carlos leisurely hanging out in the distance instead of attending to customers. When he finally brought the drinks, he mistakenly included an alcoholic beverage—something we never ordered. When I pointed out the mistake, he shockingly argued with me, insisting that my 15-year-old daughter had ordered it. He even attempted to push the drink toward her, which was completely unacceptable and, frankly, illegal. After a heated exchange, he snatched the drink away in frustration and left.
A few minutes later, our food arrived, but once again, it wasn’t what we had ordered. Given the earlier argument over the drinks, I chose not to say anything and just accepted the meal. Fortunately, the food turned out to be delicious, which was the only saving grace of the evening.
The atmosphere was pleasant, and the location is convenient, but the service desperately needs improvement.
Overall, while the food was great, the terrible service overshadowed the experience. I strongly urge management to address these service issues, especially regarding the mishandling of alcoholic beverages. I won’t be returning anytime soon, and if I do, I will be extremely cautious about ...
Read more(Group of 7 arrived 10:45am) Cute interior and nice staff but service could be better as far as being more attentive to who comes in and where they go sit (you seat yourself). It also seemed like they only had 1-2 waitresses, maybe 3? after some time. We came in and waited a bit before getting menus for ourselves. They only have one espresso machine and so it took a while for them to get our coffees out to us. They got one drink order wrong but we kept it because it would have taken a while for them to make it. We started to get our coffees within 20-35 mins after arriving. They eventually brought out a complimentary chips and queso and salsa for the wait which by way was all pretty good. We noticed that service started to pick up at that time. We finally got our food within 40 mins after arriving. We ordered chilaquiles, pancakes, a signature burger, portobello hash, and breakfast tacos. We were all satisfied with the quality of the food that one vegan member said she would wait again for the portobello hash. Another member said that the Tejano taco was very flavorful and fresh, even the tortilla. The pancakes were SO good. We tasted a hint of vanilla in them. Overall, the only downside was the wait but the quality of the food made up for it. We also thought pricing is unreasonably too much for the food and drinks ($5 lattes plus $1 for a flavor, 0.75 cents for oatmilk, single pancake $4, $3 bean and cheese taco (I’ve seen big, stuffed burritos for that price), $15 chilaquiles plate) compared to other places. But anywho, food was good and thank you for serving our...
Read moreStopped by this cafe and bar on a weekday after seeing the great reviews, and it really lived up to the hype. The place has a very pleasant atmosphere, with a clean and stylish interior. Tables were spotless, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. I was really looking forward to ordering the ceviche, but unfortunately they told me it wasn’t available that day. That was a bit disappointing. The food was fresh and flavorful, with generous portions that left us full and happy. We also tried a couple of their cocktails – interesting flavors and well-balanced. Prices are a bit above average, but honestly, it felt worth it given the overall experience. The location is a bit tucked away and easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, but we were glad we found it. Definitely a spot we’d...
