This is my favorite Japanese restaurant, not because it is conveniently close to where I live, but for their sashimi. I am not a big fan of sushi or their hibachi (which I tried once or twice), but I will never get tired of sashimi served with a side of warm rice, miso soup and their house salad with ginger dressing. Sashimi deluxe is my favorite item in their menu and I always get it. The sashimi is as fresh as it gets, considering we are thousands of miles away from the ocean. The fish is firm, no fishy smell, twice the size of most Japanese restaurants, two bite sizes to give you an idea. Sashimi here is one of the freshest in all Chicago and suburbs. I can hardly finish the entire 12-piece platter, but who wants to waste a good slice of sushi. On the downside, their servers need hospitality training. They seem to be always in a rush. Not only do they had difficulty with English, they are borderline rude. It seems this is a constant every time I’m dining here.

Very good place to eat with family, friends and strangers. The service was amazing and the food is literally cooked right in front of you fresh!!! This was my first time attending for a birthday party and I was highly impressed with the quality of food for the price (140.00/5 people). I would reccomend the steak and chicken entrees because they have the best flavor. I would say this is a great family dinner place to go on a Friday night, but not for super special occasions like and anniversary because it's not an intimate setting, but is more open seating. My kids really enjoyed our cook and our waiter. I am not much into eating sushi, so I don't have an opinion on that part of the menu. However I will definitely be coming back here to have a great sit down dinner for good Asian food.

Aodake has been our favorite restaurant since it opened. The owners Vincent & Lucy are wonderful. The staff are kind, welcoming, and work hard to ensure each guest experience is excellent. From hibachi experiences to superior sushi / sashimi offerings to excellent specialty drinks. They even carry one of my favorite brands of saki. This is a Romeoville treasure. If you have been thinking about checking them out; stop thinking about it and make it happen. Ask for Alex the bartender / server who remembers his repeat guests and treats them like family.

Poor service... prejudice wait staff. I have been a customer here since they opened this location. The food, and service normally is decent for a local restaurant serving hibachi . I have not been here since last winter, and was starved after work.. I decided to stop in for a bite . Horrible Idea. 1-When I arrived the hostess greeted me as if in a hurry ( it’s not 10 patrons inside ) I asked to sit at the sushi bar, and was told it’s closed, the have already went to the back. And the hostess sat me a table in the corner of the Restaurant. It appeared that I was the only black patron in the dining area( not the hibachi area. I must admit I started to leave then, but I had a long day, and was really hungry.

After being seated, I decided on my meal. As I am about to order, the gentleman that prepare sushi 🍣 at the sushi bar came out. I was pissed. Why wasn’t I seated there like I originally asked ?The waitress couldn’t answer me, and walked away with my order, but before she did, she told me "to go' orders are taken at the bar, and I should wait there. before I could respond, she asked if i would ' please sit at the bar to retrieve your togo meal. I am heated, Tired as I can be, I go to the bar , starving for food ,and was told by the bartender, They were wrong, and the sushi bar is open, and you could sit there . He made several attempts to get my to the sushi bar, but I refused saying it’s no longer my desire to be here. I advised , him I will get it to go. When I asked the waitress for the manager she said the manager wasn’t in today. No apology or anything! She actually tried correcting me on what happened Really never again I rushed out the door saying "I will tell others about this experience" They seemed unbothered. .. so they too are not mistreated." I am almost scared to eat the food, and should not have stayed. and waited. I did in hopes to get a fresh meal. I worked 12 hours today and must be at work in the morning ) exhausted I left. I should’ve went home as the food wasn’t to my satisfaction. ( too salty, and the Portions are extremely small.on take out. ) I URGE YOU TAKE YOUR MONEY elsewhere. This place is not Worth the Trip.

Never again...

Currently sitting in this establishment experiencing the worst service ever. I advised the chef of my seafood allergy prior to him starting the hibachi grill. I’m not sure if he misunderstood or didn’t hear me correctly but as he proceeded to place the meats on the grill all near one another and then the noodles and rice. I again advised him and received a head nod. He then proceeds to use the same utensils for all meats which means,I cannot consume it. He then proceeds to use the same utensils for the vegetables which I that point,I called the waitress over to explain the issue. She apologized and immediately advised my meat would be cooked in the back. Now,my rice and noodles are cold as I await my meat from the back. The waitress returned 10 minutes later with only chicken when I’d ordered the combination hibachi with chicken and beef. I advised her and she then returned to the kitchen. While waiting, the chef started giving out the vegetables that he used the contaminated utensils on,again offering them to me so clearly he is not understanding. I grabbed an extra plate as to intervene and avoid him putting them on my plate which would contaminate my noodles and rice. The waitress stood watching and approached asking if I wanted vegetables as well. Well of course,I ordered them so why would I not? My full meal arrived in pieces…eventually…and was not enjoyable as a result. First time here, never returning. Hopefully I’m contacted by management to make this right before I exit the restaurant however if not, I will be taking follow up action as not only was the food not as it should have been, but the chef then stop engaging with my son and I due to his error or misunderstanding which is not good customer service...

This has always been my go to for hibachi. Usually a wait, which is expected because food is good. However, this past weekend 1-13-24 we took family who had never gone to experience this place and we did not have a good time. We were seated rather quickly to our surprise but it was soon after we realized it was due to them not having the hear on in the restaurant. This weekend was the first below snow weekends. And there were many complaints about temperature. Everyone had winter coates, scarf, gloves and hats on. Even at other tables. You could see your breath and our food was cold 10 min after being served. All staff would do was laugh as if it was a joke and offer tea that was cold. We split our bill between 2 separate bills for our large group and we're charged a service fee on top of gratuity when asked what the service fee was they couldn't explain what it was for. Waiter said it was for having a large group i explained that is what gratuity is. Then did not have a response ask another wait staff and they said its a tip. On top of that tried to double charge as one bill even thoughit was split down the middle. We paid the bill because we had lil ones and did not want to argue and get warm. I am very...
