We decided to try their 2/$25 again and they had changed a few items. They finally put quacamole n chips on it as an appetizer. But the steaks were absolutely horrible! My first one was burnt. And we paid extra to get bigger ones and they had so much silver tissue in them they were pretty difficult to cut as it was but trying with their dull knives didn't make it any easier. The steak was not worth the $4 up charge because it had so much connective tissue in it. Definitely a low quality steak as it was even difficult to chew any you did get cut up. We reported it to the manager and she just blew it off that it's how steaks are. They also burnt my first one to begin with when I ordered medium rare leaning on the rare side. The waitress and manager both agreed it was well done, then brought me the steak that couldn't be cut. The quacamole was fine on top than as I scooped a spoonful out to put on my plate, there was a massive layer of brown from it being left uncovered somewhere in the back and had oxidized. I showed another waiter and he was nice, said "oh they shouldn't have put that in there it's been oxidized". Thing is it wasn't like it had been sitting on our table for more than a few seconds when I scooped into it and that's where I got like a seperate layer and the bottom was oxidized. The manager brought out the replacement and rudely said in a firm voice "you have the quacamole?" Didn't introduce herself, didn't apologize or anything. But when she came back about the steaks she had the same mannerism and acted like all steak look like that. We also upgraded as I said but it didn't look any bigger than a 5oz steak... They were supposed to start with 6oz and we upgraded to 10oz I thought. But they didn't look anything like a 10oz and the manager tried telling me that steaks reduce in size when you cook them . Acted like I was a moron first of all not knowing that and I said yes, but they don't melt off half their weight. She said it depended on how long it was cooked... I stated medium rare! Which anyone who eats steak a lot knows medium rare is only a few minutes a side if you've got a decent steak and you don't just throw it on a hot grill, put a weight on it to cook faster and leave it till you realize it's getting dark. Oh...I ordered our dessert when we ordered everything else. They're chocolate lava cake. The waitress said they don't put them in till we're done eating. I wasn't going to argue, but when dessert time came I had to remind her of the order... And we waited like b ten and I caught her and said just make it to go... Then a different person, 4th person now serving us, brought outt a box to go and said "you have the cookie?" I said no, we ordered a Lava cake. She said oh and walked away. Manners at this place after having. You don't just ask if something is there's. You should know where it's going to and be polite. So, Ten minutes later our waitress finally came out with it and by this time we had already paid and was waiting on the cake that had already been paid for so we could leave. It's like playing roulette here... Sometime's you're going to get lucky and sometimes you're going to shoot yourself in the foot for ever walking in here. Mind you, the manager never apologized for anything and never offered a thing for all of the problems... oh... The raspberry tea, avoid it. I don't know what was wrong work it, but I normally love a raspberry tea and there was an awful bitter taste and way too much sweetness in it. It actually tasted like old tea that had been several days old and they just added syrup on top of it. I don't know. It was bad and I sent it back. So because my bf said his steak was ok, just ok... I'll give them 2 stars. They lose one star for my steak, 1 star for the quacamole and last star for the desert and tea issue. Bad...
Read moreThey made an unpleasant event even worse. A bunch of old friends and I met up here after a nearby wake for drinks, a bite, and some catching up. It was late, and we were a large group who showed up in spurts. At 10:30, after already ordering several rounds of drinks and appetizers, we were alerted by our server that the kitchen would be closing at 11:00. We got our orders in just in time as the others arrived. After a long wait for our food, the servers next informed us that we can't order drinks with our meals because the bar was now closed. We never got a last call warning. In fact, after the server told us the kitchen was closing soon we did not see him again other than a quick pop out to get our food orders in and then he took off very quickly before we had a chance to order drinks. We were disappointed to say the least. Meanwhile, a few from our party were seated in the bar area because there was not enough room at the table. They were treated very poorly by the bartender. He refused to make a particular drink, told one guest that she needed to "hold on" because they were "very busy." Even the manager informed the same guest that she was not sure if she could get her a drink because she was unsure of how much she had already been served. What? Really? She had just arrived five minutes ago, was not intoxicated, and was not acting that way. Nobody in our party was. This sorry excuse for a manager was utterly indifferent to our complaints. No sorry, no nothing. It became quite pronounced that the employees were upset that they had a group come in so close to closing time. Tough. Your hours say 'til midnight, that means you are open 'til midnight. Your kitchen closes at 11? Okay, maybe alert us to the fact that the bar will be closing, too. I mean, we had already been ordering drinks and we should have been asked if we wanted anything else! This was the first time I have been to a Chili's since the '80s, and I can't see myself headed back anytime soon. Well, at least not THIS location. The manager was very rude and should be ashamed of...
Read moreI know covid has hit things hard, but what we had tonight bordered on awful. First, we waited over an hour to be seated when told it was going to be 15 minutes. The host left about 55 minites after we arrived and somehow we were dropped off the list when he did. This large restaurant had less than 1/3 of the tables occupied. Only 2 wait staff, who were doing everything. We believe that at least one of them was brand new and still learning. Once the host left, they had to handle seating, wait on customers, listen to the complaints, bus their own tables, and clean them after bussing them. I suspect they were also washing dishes. I know they were also sweeping. Never received chips and salsa, despite asking for them. Our soups and salads came out after our entrees were served. And 3 of the 5 entrees were cold. As in completely cool with congealed alfredo sauce. Nothing worse than cold alfredo sauce on pasta. To top it off, our bill had errors. We didn't short the wait staff their tip because a lot of this was the result of severe understaffing and they were doing the best they could with what they had. I have to ask, where the heck was the manager at, who should have been there helping? Lounging at home, I suspect. If they are that short of staff, they'd be much better off closing the dining area on one or two of their slow nights and increasing their staff on the remaining nights. On those two nights where dining is closed, do carryout only. That can be handled by the cooks and one waiter or waitress. With all of this going on, they are very likely going to go out of business if this keeps up. It will be a long time before we go back to Chili's and we were regulars. If we do, it won't be this one. You'd swear with all the chaos that they wete a brand new restaurant rather than an...
