Edited for a recent visit.
I won't be back. Not one thing right with order except for the fries. Frankly, I am very disappointed.
While everyone has raved about how good Wingstop is, I was reluctant to try it. After a month or two of being open, the crowd settles down significantly. And now I see why. The service was great, my order was done on time. I can't say anything for the rest of the half dozen or so people in the lobby, waiting patiently for their food, with otherwise less than impressed facial expressions. Definitely too many unhappy faces in the lobby!
Upon receiving my order, I'm not sure that everything was correct. I ordered some boneless wings with original spicy flavoring. For starters, I couldn't tell that there was any spiciness to them at all. It has flavor, just no spice. While the other flavors I had were very good, that is pretty much where the line of "good" was drawn. First off, the boneless wings, themselves, are not wing meat. Please stop advertising them as such. Secondly, I received only half of my order. Out of a 50pc order, I only received half of the wings. I received, however, all of the "boneless wings." Not really sure what that is about, but 1 wing consists of a flat and a drumette. While this is a constant battle in the industry, I am sure you are shaking your head in disbelief right now. And I don't blame you. But finally, and you may want to really look hard into this because this is what you do. You literally cook wings, all day, every day. These are by far, some of the worst wings that I have ever had! I know my chicken. It is my favorite food/meat. I worked in the chicken fast food industry for a lot of years before I was forced to retire. Otherwise, I am sure I would still be there after 45 years in the business. That being said, your wings are overcooked and extremely greasy! I have never had a burned piece of chicken that was cooked in oil, come out tasting charred as if it was burned on a grill. They were so dry as well! So two things that could fix this; #1 lower the temperature on the fryers. Obviously, I don't know what temperature you are cooking them at. But 350 to 375 degrees F is ideal to cook wings. You should be able to cook 30-40 while wings in 8-10 minutes to a nice golden brown. Depending on the size of your fryer if course. #2 change the oil/shortening. Whichever you use. If you are going to burn the crap out of your wings like this, no matter how much you filter the oil, which, hopefully you do, it is still going to come out tasting burned.
Hopefully you aren't reading this and laughing at my recommendations. If you don't fix this, your brand new location is just going to crash. The audience you have all around you is very big on chicken. For example, Mother's Day is the biggest day for sales in the entire year here in Muskegon. You would easily outdo your opening weeks sales in one day, here. But you have to do it right!
I had really high hopes in visiting Wingstop, but I was completely blown away at the lack of quality when I received my food. I am going to really have a hard time returning in the near future. If you are around in another 6 months, which hopefully you are, I will consider visiting again. But even when my 4 year old boy, who absolutely loves chicken, looks at me and asks my to cut up his wings for him because it's too hard, that was my biggest clue that I wasn't going to enjoy my dinner. And he was absolutely right!
So hopefully, you don't take this with a grain of salt, because Mother s Day is just a few months out and this gives you just enough time to make an impression.
Also, on a side note, I will consider changing my review after my next visit if things have improved. Hopefully I don't have to...
Read moreI wanted to give WingStop a try as I’ve heard great things from other wing stops but I’ve tried it twice now and it just isn’t good, the food, the service, the atmosphere, just overall. The first time I tried it they were out of boneless wings and I wanted the boneless wing special they had been advertising. So, I got traditional and the wings looked and tasted old. They were hard, dry, and crunchy with no sauce. I didn’t finish them. The second time I got the boneless wing special and we got 3 different flavors of wings and a large fry. The wings were all crammed with paper in one small box. The sauce was everywhere, the wings were squished, and my wings, which were on the bottom, had no sauce left as a result. The actual wings were good but maybe u should have said put some sauce on the side? Ended up adding more at home. The large fry had like 10 fries in it for us to share as well. The taste didn’t even live up to the hype, Buffalo Wild Wings is better, traditional, but better at this point. Just stinks because everyone around was so excited for something new, especially a wingstop. May try one more time but give them a few months as they...
Read moreI'm honestly so disappointed that people have no common sense, OR the decency to treat these workers like human beings. clearly they just opened up and are very busy, so, of course there will be a longer wait time, number one. Number two there is going to be some messed up orders no big deal, what is a big deal though is how these customers will treat these workers over some messed up food. yesterday was my first time going and I was far more disappointed by the way the customers were acting and behaving, than the long wait time. When I got there the whole restaurant was packed with people, the cashier worker looked very stressed out, people were just standing there expecting her to know what the name to their order was. if you use some common sense you can be in and out. Something else I want to mention is that there were two older ladies blocking the front counter saying very rude things to the front counter lady while she was trying to read out the order names, and she definitely didn't deserve that. It doesn't take a lot to be nice and understanding, think how it would be in...
