There are a lot of great taco places in this area, and there are a lot of terrible ones. This place stinks. Pro tip: don’t put a “Prices have increased” sign on your door as the first thing customers see as they walk up. We all know that. No greeting when you walk in, no one saying “Can I help you?” or even “Next”. The two cashiers needed serious customer service training. I finally walked up to one and she didn’t say a word. Just silence. We started ordering and I picked the Barbacoa plate, which was pricey, and a sausage, egg, and cheese taco for my daughter. I wanted unsweet tea, which EVERY place has, but they don’t offer it. I had to settle for a Member’s Mark bottled water from Sam’s Club. The food came out and there was immediate disappointment. I got a tiny scoop of barbacoa, tiny scoop of plain, unseasoned cubed potatoes, tiny scoop so-called refried beans that looked like they were straight from the can and onto my plate, a tiny container or tasteless, thin “salsa”, and two doughy tortillas. It didn’t get any better as we ate. I saw my daughter trying to locate any actual sausage amongst the eggs and it was not easy. Not wanting to influence her with my opinion, I waited for her to tell me what she thought of her taco. After a minute, she said, “Dad, why did we come here?” That’s all I needed to know. My plate was horrible as well. I doused everything in salt and pepper to try and get any semblance of flavor out of my dish but even that didn’t help. Keywords here are bland, small portions, and rude service. With all the traffic and housing near this place, it’ll likely survive and have its own loyalists. I will...
Read moreIt was our first time here. I love the affordable pricing of both their meals and beverages. The meals were good, but nothing impressive. They were served hot and it's a good-sized serving so that you feel satisfied. Next time, we'll return to try out their breakfast. I'm glad that they serve enchiladas; that is what I tried. The staff were friendly and helpful. You order at the front, then someone food is brought to your table when ready. It's a cash-only restaurant. Chismosa's shares a space with the gas station's convenience store, but it is on one corner so it's not that weird. They can get busy at times with a line forming, but that gives you a chance to glance at the menu hanging above the front counter. Some people phone-in their orders. Dine-in or takeout are both good options. This is a corner location on Reading Rd. and B.F. Terry...
