Mike's La Taqueria — Restaurant in Rosenberg

I was there yesterday with my family! I saw the place because my daughter goes to ballet close and I took her to eat ice cream next to this place! Anyways! I told my husband that we should try it. We went there and were really excited about it, until we got our server! The first lady that approached us was really nice! (Curly, black hair) then we got a grumpy, unpleasant lady, her hair is like dyed orange, she is short, hispanic and white skin. No smiles! Nothing! She asked if we were ready to order we said we had already ordered the drinks with the other lady so I asked her what the difference was between an enchilada and a quesadilla! I am not Mexican and I don’t eat Mexican food at all so my question was genuine. She did not like my question and asked me if I really did not know what the difference was to what I replied that I did not. She made fun of me and refused to answer then my husband interrupted and kind of explained to me what the difference was because he is more food cultured than me I guess. Anyways, she made feel so uncomfortable! Never came to check on us! I did not like her at all! The food and the drinks...

Service needs to be 20 stars. The girls here are amazing! Someone is constantly checking on the table to see if drinks need to be refreshed, food is ok, etc. Very clean inside & a nice atmosphere! The kind of place you just want to sit, enjoy your drink of choice & enjoy! Speaking of drinks.... my margarita came with an orchid flower as a garnish. How cool is that! And yes, orchids are edible too should you go that route. Our waitress spoke very little e glish so one of the other girls jumped in & assisted with the good stuff on the menu. Her recommendations were spot on. Mom & I shared a beef, chicken, & shrimp fajita platter complete with grilled onions & green bell peppers, charts beans, rice, guacamole, pico de Gallo & corn & flour tortillas. YUM! It was all we could do to eat the other for one person. Lol....

Food was ok, the barbacoa was just grease and fat but the eggs beans papas and homemade torts were ok. Service on the other hand was horrible. First thing, we asked for orange juice and we didn't get it until the middle of our meal, we had to constantly remind her for it, we didn't get our chips and salas until 15mins of being there and last of all, the very worst thing of all, We called Our waitress over to adk for more water and torts and instead of coming to our table to see what we needed, she made us yell across the restaurant what we wanted....Oh and then when we went to pay our waitress was dancing instend of taking our check to the front so we went ahead and took it up there. Not going back...
