Went in to visit a few months back and it has been hard to summarize the experience. I really hope that we just had a one off thing, even shops can have an off day, but this was hard to quantify as a 'single event'. Went on a midweek summer evening, still showing signs of 'grand opening' flare. There was no one there except for 3 visible workers. The atmosphere was flashy, but it was simply not aesthetically pleasing to me, it may be for others. Ordering was complicated, we had no idea what the place offered other than chocolate related treats based off the name, and the order menu display screen was on a 5 second loop between pages so it was hard to read, let alone repeat to my kid. I mentioned to the person at the counter that we were new and had no idea what to order or how, and he just smiled offering no help. Found a printed menu taped to the counter, helped my daughter make some choices, and then went to order. Oddly, they were out of a lot of stuff, like chocolate. We worked through several other order ideas that were 'we didn't get that in yet, but coming soon' responses (odd), and finally placed an order. If I recall correctly, a package of chocolate covered strawberries, a dubai chocolate crepe and something else. We opted to take it to go. Apparently they were also out of a certain to-go box for one or more of the items. While we waited, two girls came in, placed their order, received it, and was part way through finishing before we got our order. That's ok, some things may be easier to make than others, or whatever, this isn't a negative, but simply part of the experience. Watching from the sitting area, waiting for our order, I noticed that the counter with the cashier was messy, like it hasn't been wiped in a bit. The work station was the same, could see bits of prior orders on the work counter. Some of the tables were messy, simply not wiped. Then realized that for a desert place that has syrups and ice creams, that they had velvet seating... That seems to be a conflict with keeping things clean and avoiding stains to me. But whatever. This place felt disorganized, and the crew was either taking a break after some rush we did not see before us, or just simply not interested in cleanliness. Still, sometimes gems are found in odd places, so we waited for our food. I noticed one of the workers grabbed a basket of strawberries, then starts dipping them, without washing or anything. Ok, so maybe they were prewashed, I can't speak for things I can't see. Once we got it, we went home. The food wasn't anything special, and it was obvious when we saw it, that the strawberries were not washed at all. That was my bad for not seeing the signs. It was OK, I've seen/been some bad places in my travels, and this experience was below average. The food did not travel well as packaged, which is part packaging, part food item, part heat, so not quiet their full responsibility. I'm trying to be fair, cause this was just a not good experience, but I really do not see...
