We didn't have a very good experience here. It was late evening on a Friday night and there were few people in the restaurant and no one was waiting in front of us. We ordered and ended up waiting about 40 minutes to get our food! A group who came in after us got their food well before us, as did several take out orders.
This place is pretty expensive for the ambiance. It's just a step up from a fast food place. You order at the counter and they only have canned soda and bottled waters and beers. They had sports playing where the menu monitors should be and we had to look at a small folded take out menus.
We paid about $90 for three adults (with tip). That's about what we paid for a nice sit down dinner at the Indian place at The Fountains. That place had water service and fountain drinks. Also, the menu didn't mention that the curries come with rice, so we ordered some on the side, only to have them come out with individual bowls of rice. I double checked the (confusingly laid out) menu and there was no mention of the curries coming with rice.
We ate on a little side patio they had at up which was charming, but the metal patio chairs were clearly designed by the Marquis de Sade. The metal bar on the back was uncomfortable to lean against.
The only saving grace was the food. It was absolutely delicious and came in quantities large enough that we could bring home leftovers for another meal. The chicken vindaloo at medium spice was perfection, the naan and rice were excellent.
I can't say if we'll be going back. Maybe they'll work out their kitchen issues, but it's hard to justify a medium fancy restaurant cost for a step above takeout experience.
EDIT January 2025 - We were really looking for Indian food and we remembered this place. Despite our prior issues, we decided to give them another try. We came in later on a Sunday and were the only people in the place. Since we knew what to expect, we were able to order without issues and the price came in a bit more reasonable. This place still doesn't have much ambiance, but the food is very good.
This is not a place for a fine dining experience, but if you want delicious Indian food,...
Read moreThe restaurant might be good but the truck service disappoints. I ordered the Lamb Seekh wrap at their food truck and received nothing but heartache. The naan resembled a burnt and flakey pancake which was loaded with lamb only at each and off the wrap. The middle was nothing but lettuce and the only tomatoes were tiny pieces at each end. Maybe I would have received better service if I'd have tipped up front but this is exactly why I feel it is important not to. Don't bother with this truck if you don't have a relationship already because they are quick to cut corners and leave a customer disappointed. Smh. The sauce and lamb has good flavor, but I simply cannot recommend anyone that wants to burn their patrons. I should have taken pictures but I was hungry and hoped it wasn't going to be this bad.... There won't be a next time but I encourage anyone who has a similar experience to share pictures as I'm sure this isn't a one...
