I recently visited Ryujin Ramen, Roseville and had the pleasure of indulging in their Kuro Ramen, and I must say, it was an unforgettable dining experience. The Kuro ramen was served piping hot, the aromatic allure of the broth immediately piqued my senses. The rich, deep flavor of the black garlic oil added a unique complexity to the broth, elevating it beyond any ramen I've had before. The noodles were cooked to perfection – firm and springy, providing the ideal texture with every bite.
Accompanying the noodles were succulent slices of chashu pork, which were tender and flavorful, practically melting in the mouth. The well-balanced addition of toppings, including fresh green onions and a perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg, complemented the wonderfully umami-laden dish. Each element was meticulously prepared, showcasing an attention to detail and a reverence for authentic Japanese flavors.
The service at Ryujin Ramen was equally commendable; the staff were attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that my dining experience was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.
Overall, Ryujin Ramen’s Kuro Ramen exceeded my expectations in every way. Its harmonious blend of flavors and the restaurant's inviting ambiance make it a must-visit destination for any ramen enthusiast or anyone looking to experience a superb culinary adventure. I am already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of their diverse menu offerings. Highly...

Let’s first talk about how nice the decor and interior is. Very modern with lighting accents that make it feel very inviting. Little touches here and there just make the experience immersive.
We arrived early, so the place was pretty empty. Service was immediate and we were seated right away. Being our first time, we took a bit to look over the menu. We decided on the Age Shumai for an appetizer, Aka Tonkotsu, and Karamiso Ramen.
The Shumai was fried, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with a nice crab flavor. Both ramen’s were huge portions, hot and presented very well.
The Tonkotsu had a nice broth, lots of cabbage and mushrooms, and was topped with pickled ginger slices. I have to say, the ginger was an amazing topping that added so much flavor. The chashu was tender and flavorful. The noodles were cooked perfectly, chewy and not overcooked.
The Karamiso was just as flavorful and loaded! Loaded with veggies and ground chicken. This wasn’t mine, but I tasted it.
The one critique I will give is that both ramens were labeled as spicy, but neither would be considered spicy in my opinion. That being said, a simple ask for some chili oil solved that.
Will definitely...
Read moreI've been to the downtown Ryujin many times and was excited to try this new location, but unfortunately, it felt like an off night for the food. The service was great, and the staff were attentive throughout our visit.
We had reservations for 7 PM, and when we arrived, there were only two other tables occupied. I don't think many people know about this location yet, but I'm sure it will get busier as word gets out.
As for the food, the fried oysters (kaki) were cooked perfectly and paired well with the sauce. However, the chicken wings were underwhelming--soft rather than crispy, bland, and in need of sauce. I ordered my usual, the AKA (red Tonkotsu ramen), but this time it was lukewarm and lacked its usual depth of flavor. We also tried the miso ramen, which turned out bland as well. Usually, miso broth has a noticeable salt base, but this one seemed extra light.
Overall, I wish there had been more flavor in all the dishes we ordered. I'm hoping this was just an off night, as I've had better experiences at their downtown location. I'd still recommend making a reservation just to be safe if you plan to visit.
