I have no complaints about the taste & quality of everything made at this bakery. I have been a customer for many years. However, I had a recent disappointing experience. I visited the bakery a couple weeks ago inquiring about cupcakes for my granddaughters open house that, at the time, was over a month away. I was told I should order within 3 weeks of the open house by one of the employees. I chose my flavors & made a phone call to the bakery about 4 weeks before to ask if I needed to come in person. I asked again about the order as I was waiting for an approximate number on guests. The employee said “Don’t worry, you could even wait till the first of the month if you need to” which was even less than 3 weeks. I went to the bakery 3 weeks before the event & was told “unfortunately we are booked for that day”. I was so upset. If I had not been led to believe by the employees that I was ordering in plenty of time, I would have completely understood, But I was deceived & explained this to them. The response I got was “well things change”. If you tell customers they have a certain time frame to order, you should stand by that. The good news is that I went to another bakery & thankfully my cupcake order was taken care of. So may I suggest that employees inform customers more accurately in the future. Other than that, I think your bakery...
Read moreMy mom went here to pick up a cake she ordered over the phone for my birthday. She said they were very nice over the phone and she couldn't wait to see how the cake turned out. I decided to go with her but didn't go in. When she came out with the cake she looked a little bothered. I asked what was wrong and I thought it was going to be the usual "people were shocked because we don't look the way we sound over the phone thing (not getting into that right now but it happens a lot).
It's a good thing she looked at the cake before leaving beacuse they spelled my name wrong on the cake. *my mom spelled it out over the phone and made sure they got it before hanging up. It's four letters and she's great at enunciating. She asked them to fix it and they did which is good but she never got an apology. She said they just seemed really embarrassed.
The employee who did it admitted it to the person helping my mom but never looked at my mom and apologized for the error.
The cake looked nice and tastes great but customer service matters and respectful apologies with eye contact...
Read moreI would say don't buy from them but they won't even let you buy from them!! My mother in love calls to get a quote on a cake the lady that answered the phone says we are booked up for that day plus our cakes are very expensive! First of all you don't know how much money she have. Then she goes into the bakery to make sure it wasn't just a misunderstanding and another rude lady was at the front counter and says she can't quote me a price for the cake..why because my mother in love is African American! So African Americans don't have money or you just not serving them??? Then the rude lady that was on the phone comes out and say she never said our cakes are expensive and that my mother in love had an attitude! Who argues with a customer..Very unprofessional! Bad business who is managing this bakery? Keep your cake because I will be sure to tell people not to go to Beck crown bakery..it's too many other bakeries that would love to get our money..Cakes by Karen is an awesome bakery..as well as Grandeur Sweets....
