This is another restaurant we tried on the heels of their grand opening. It's a very casual grill with cement floors, a combination of booths and tables and features local artists' creations for sale. Even though it's not in the CMU neighborhood, it feels like it could be as it's got a cool university vibe going on. They're expanding and will soon feature a bar separate bar area next door. Beer and wine is also now available for the grill side and the chefs/owners are cheerful and know their craft. The sandwiches are delicious. My husband's latest fav is The Dun Cow - White garlic aioli, crispy house-made seasoned onion straws, aged parmesan cheese, and fresh tomato slices. My favorite is the fantastic pizza with thin extra crispy delicious crust - usually topped with mushroom and sausage. It's not currently listed on the menu but is available through a daily specials list. We HIGHLY recommend this place. We love to support the independent small businesses that are locally owned. You won't be disappointed giving Stoke's...
Read moreHappened to be in the area, had never been here before. The menu set high expectations, and did not disappoint. Had a pretzel sandwich, which is on an actual soft pretzel, not a pretzel bun, which made for a unique and very tasty experience. I got a cup of Loaded Potato soup, which was actually breathtaking, and I do not say that lightly. It is really that good. I got the house made chips as my side, which were perfectly fried. There was no noticable seasoning on them, which I prefer, but there's salt and pepper at the table if you wanted to add some. My server, Ashley, was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. When I made up my mind, I got my food very quickly. I did go on a Tuesday afternoon, so I had the place almost to myself, so I can't speak to how the service response is in busier times, but other reviews seem to imply that it is always great, and I am not surprised. There's a really nice atmosphere here. I will go out of my way...
Read moreSuper clean and staff was friendly.
Tried one of their soups and it was very enjoyable. The serving was way bigger than I was expecting.
Tried one of their pretzel sandwiches. Asked for dressing on the side instead of on it and they didn’t follow through. Only reason why that was important was there were. Number of items I would try but many had one thing I would want to omit so curious if it was a one time thing or if it would be hard to get an other followed correctly.
I was pleasantly surprised by the meat on the sandwich, the ham felt more like it was off of a bone vs deli meat. The bread itself could have been a bit more flavorful or maybe it was dry, hard to say but just ok.
The fries were also just ok, didn’t seem super fresh/were kind of cold so probably wouldn’t recommend for take out if that’s how they came for dine in.
Overall both the sandwich and portions were huge so you might want to split things. I would definitely...
