Michaels — Local services in Ross Township

So this is not a store that I frequent Often. Typically if I need supplies such as glue tape runners, crayons and stuff for children to do arts and crafts, I usually will just buy it online. However this particular day I made the decision to go ahead and go to Michael’s intentionally so that we would not have to wait the shipping time after placing an order because my sons really really wanted to make clay molds the kind you put in the oven. As I said in the beginning of this review Michaels is not a store that I frequent Often; therefore I was not familiar at all with how to navigate the store what all products they carried etc. So obviously I’ll look for a floor associate to ask for assistance. The young man who I asked for help from, he was super nice and very helpful! He help me find the items I was looking for in less than five minutes and was very polite and cordial. Then that check out I was worried that it was going to be very expensive quite frankly. To my surprise it was not. So that’s why I give this review a five star, and why I’m sharing my experience because it was such a good experience! In the biggest thing that I’ve noticed since the year of 2020, is that the big brick and mortar retail stores I have dramatically declined in their customer service, willingness to help us consumers, and basically just follow the norms of society and social interaction in a setting such as this. I’ve been noticing a trend that a lot of the employees at these big brick and mortar retailers have completely disregarded the Importance of their job; Which is to be polite and helpful to the customers that come to the store. Help us find the items were looking for, answer questions, and basically just be nice and helpful and of assistance. The trend I’ve been noticing is that employees have been rude, inappropriate, and obviously could care less about helping us customers to have a better experience at their stores. As a small business owner myself, who is strictly cells on e-commerce and, meaning I don’t have a brick and mortar store; if I did have a store with employees I would fire them on the spot if I saw the behavior that I personally have been experiencing. So I tip my hat to you Michaels arts and craft store, For being the example of what a good brick and mortar retail business in post 2020 should be like. Thank you for that very pleasant shopping experience that I had when I visited your store. I greatly appreciate it and so do my sons. Michael's is a good craft and sewing store. It's pretty basic I mean there are some nice things that have especially pens and some special things but it's kind of ho-hum. Now if you want to go somewhere special you could go to Pat Catan's which is wonderful has a little bit of everything but if you're really into the Arts like painting or taking classes you want to go to Hobby Lobby. I've never been there before and they just open one close to my home . My daughter's in our class and she found multiple brushes and paying some different things that she needed for her class. Beautiful selections of a lot of things and the prices are are fairly equal to other places some things might be a little more, but in the long run I think it's worth it. This Michaels is a smaller store than most Michael's in the Pittsburgh area, but they still provide a good selection and have helpful staff. The store itself shows its age in the fixtures and lighting, but it is full of great craft supplies just like any other store. If you need something in a large quantity it might be best to give them a call in advance to check if they have it in stock. I do this and have them put something on hold for me which makes the shopping process even easier. Michael's in general is a higher priced store than Pat Catans, but they have an app where you can download their coupons while you are in the store, and they've just started a rewards program. I'm part of the rewards program and have been sent coupons in my email that are better than the ones they send me in the app, so it might be worth it to subscribe to both if you are a frequent...
