UPDATED: 3/10/20: See Below: I am a regular customer of this store and have had minor problems at times with their delivery service in the past but overall nothing warranting a scathingly bad review until now. I live a mile from the store. On March 7th 2020 at 8:30 pm I ordered 3 sandwiches for over $30 bucks. I tipped the driver over 20%. The weather was clear. It took an hour to deliver my food. Now that's not enough to piss me off. But my daughter ordered a #6 "The Veggie" which on the website has an image featuring 3 inches of avocado, lettuce, tomato and provolone. Most of the images of the sandwiches are pretty accurate. My daughter doesn't like Tomato or lettuce but added Turkey to it.
After waiting an hour for the sandwich to arrive, the "Veggie" literally had less avocado on it than my roast beef sandwich had Mayo. It wasn't even visible until we opened the sandwich, pulled apart the Turkey (which I paid extra for) and there was a millimeter of avacado spread over the sandwich. Had I not ordered the turkey the sandwich would have had 1 piece of cheese on it. It costs $7 dollars. I called the store to ask what happened both with the delivery time and the sandwich and an obviously teenage boy answered and after politely explain my complaint, said that the #6 only comes with 1 TBSP of avocado per 8" sandwich. I explain that the image clearly showed 100 time more than that and his response was: "So? Sir I don't make the rules." I asked to speak to a manager. He claimed to be the manager. I then explained the concept of false advertising, to which he stated... "I just make sandwiches... there are pics on the website of sandwiches we don't even make." I said "That's even worse... I thought you were the manager." He said "Yeah. I do both. And they are very rigid about how much supplies we use. I don't make the rules, THEY do." His tone was totally flat, snarky and dismissive. I asked, "Who are THEY?" He said "My bosses, the higher ups, and the owners... " I asked to speak to them and he said, "No. I can't give out personal numbers." I asked, "Do these people not have business phone numbers or offices to contact them?" He said "No. But you can find them online." I asked where and he told me to google it. I asked so your not going to do anything then? And he said, "You can order EXTRA avocado next time... for .80 more." I asked for his name and he hung up. The Jimmy John's website has no phone contacts, names or info other than a feedback section which has a 600 character limit.
The sheer "I Don't Give A F%&$!" attitude displayed by this supposed manager was beyond disrespectful and worse was the false advertising of the image of this sandwich. I know the leadership of Jimmy John's is questionable with his paid safaris to hunt endangered animals, but I don't judge a business based on personal tendencies. Lying, rude employees, no contact info and blatant false advertising that even the employees acknowledge... That's disgraceful.
Update: I went to the website, filled out a form letter expecting it to go off into the inter-webs never to be seen again. I was pleasantly surprised to hear back from the corporate office in IL just a day or so later. The email was very personalized and apologized for the incident. They told me that this is no acceptable and that the sandwich is in fact intended to be made with more Avocado than a single TBSP. That is the amount used as an ADD ON. They contacted the franchise holder and said they would be reaching out to me shortly to make up for it. That day, Ashley from the local Round Rock Franchise emailed me and said she would be having a meeting with all the managers, particularly the one in question. She also credited me for the sandwich which was all I wanted to begin with, and said that if it wasn't made correctly to contact her directly. I bumped the rating up to 3 stars from one because of the great customer service from the home office and...
Read moreOh wow! What an experience! Never have I had such a fast eating experience in my life! The second I walked in to this Jimmy Johns, I had employees lining up at the door to shake my hand. All of them welcomed me as though I was a new part of the family that had been married in. "WELCOME!" said one man. "WELL LOOK WHO WE GOT HERE! THE NEW GUY IN TOWN!" said another. "Me encantan tus zapatos. ¿Dónde los conseguiste?" said the little latino boy. Not just did that experience brighten my day, but the food made me almost have a seizure in blissful, yet controlled, ecstasy. I ordered a sandwich with a lot of bread and that's exactly what I got! The best part of the whole time there was that the bathroom had pennies lining the top of the toilets and urinals, which made me ecstatic due to me being all about that shmoney. I would say, in total that this Jimmy Johns made me change an outlook on my life....
Read moreI wish I could leave negative stars for this place. I understand being short staffed I'm a hairstylist and ordered my sandwich at 1:00 pm. At 1:01 my order was received. I work 0.5 miles away from this Jimmy John's. It is now 1:32pm and I still haven't received my order yet. I called and they said it was at the store still. The guy on the phone said do you want to cancel or just have us bring it. Well I figured I'd just cancel and the money would go back onto my card immediately and I could get lunch somewhere else. But instead they said it's gonna day 2-3 business days. Okay so I won't get my money back today, to go get lunch somewhere else, for this 12 dollar sandwich and waiting over half an hour and not even being a mile down the road and I'm sure they'll just throw the sandwich away. Glad I couldn't get any kind of...
