Urban Bird Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Round Rock

Went to Urban Bird hot Chicken about 2 weeks ago and was disappointed. My daughter goes there with her friends and had been encouraging us to check it out as a family. When we arrived the line was about 3 groups deep (maybe 1-3 people in each group average) and it still took almost 15 min just to place an order at the counter. After placing our order we went to grab a table and everything was dirty. We cleaned up one as best we could and waited for our food. And waited. And waited. After 20 min someone brought us the wrong order of food, we let the person know it was not our order but they dropped it off anyway and went to look into where it should have gone. The family it belonged to recognized their order and came and got it. About 5 min later the person who dropped it off came back and asked if we had our order yet even though the table in front of us was empty. We told them know. They went to the back again for about 5-10 min. Then came back and asked us to let them know what we ordered, they wrote everything down then went to the back again. About 10 min later someone came out with parts of our order but were missing a number of items. A few minutes later the missing items were obtained. Then about 10 min later another order of our food comes out, when the person dropping it off sees we already have our food they get mad and start yelling at the girl who dropped off our food. Overall it was just a very unimpressive experience and the food was only mediocre to boot. For my money I would much rather go to Tumbler 22 just up the road. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Urban Bird Chicken, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! It's the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and ready to enjoy a great meal. But what truly elevated our visit was the exceptional service we received from our server, William. From the moment we ordered with him and sat down, William was attentive, friendly, and incredibly helpful. He took the time to explain the menu in detail, answering all our questions with patience and a genuine enthusiasm for the food. What really stood out was his willingness to go above and beyond, because he brought us complimentary samples of different sauces and sides to try, which helped us make the perfect choices for our meal. First, I would like to say that the name does match the food. Yes, there is hot sauce, but no hot chicken.

Service: The cashier was really pleasant and willing to assist all customers who came in. The register is positioned in the wrong place. A line is built around customers trying to eat and confusion to where the line ends or starts. In addition, the door to the kitchen sits right next to the register, which creates another confusion. The menu board was out of order on visit, so you don't know what they serve unless you have one of the stacked menus sitting next to the register. Also, the online pick-up menu is different from the PDF menu that is available.

Food: Not cooked to order. I am very disappointed to it being my first time. Items on the menu sound good. However, it did not come out to my expectations of me and several other customers.

Ambiance: Again, the setup in this restaurant is all wrong and makes it confusing to what is going on.

Overall: It is hard to recommend to place with so many unsuccessful business requirements that should be made. Staff is very dysfunctional and seems to not know how to handle big crowds. Staff doesn't seem to know how to work together and stay disciplined. Unfortunately, I will not be back until...
