We ordered takeout from this restaurant, and the quality was not very good. I think the quality might be better if it was in person, but takeout was disappointing for us.

The Spicy Ramen Dish was essentially identical to the Shin Ramen Noodle you can buy in a package from the Asian grocery store, with some extra meat put in. The other ramen places we’ve been to have their own noodles and broth, and the broth here seemed it was made from the Ramen seasoning packet. The way the food was packaged was all together into one plastic bag, and that into a container. As a result, all of the liquid is absorbed into noodle.

The Pork Katsu was packed into a container with other ingredients. What is supposed to be a crispy fried shell has become soggy with the rice and vegetables. All of fried skin fell off, leaving just a ribbon of meat surrounded by soggy fried breading and soggy vegetables. I’ve had bento boxes from other places, where everything is packed separately, and each has its unique flavor. The flavor here is one mashed together.

The sushi roll, however, was OK. Not bad, though nothing stood out as fantastic either.

Unfortunate that the food is in this quality, though we may give the restaurant another try when we can...

This is one of my favorite places to go for sushi. I love coming here for many reasons. I love the easy parking, and there is almost always a table so no waiting. The menu has a lot of variety, and I love to choose the special inclusive meal that comes with soup, salad and two sushi rolls. Our server was an older woman who could not speak much English, I think she was Japanese or maybe Korean. But I would argue this adds to the authenticity of the experience of this sushi restaurant. I love the quiet atmosphere and the style in this restaurant. I never leave feeling like I am bogged down with oily food, and food leaves me feeling healthy, delighted, and happy. I always look at bathrooms when I visit restaurants. I am thrilled that this restaurant has a gender neutral bathroom, but maybe I am even more thrilled that the bathroom is so accommodating with a big table inside of it to put your belongings. No need to put your purse on...

Went to Sushi Ocean for dinner yesterday and was disappointed in how inflexible they were. We ordered the sushi/nigiri platter ($65). It serves more than 1 yet we only got 1 tiny salad to split (we got two miso soups). Considering how much we paid for dinner $99 for two including tip, I’d think they would be more generous with something as inexpensive as romaine lettuce. Also, I wanted to swap out a comparatively priced sushi roll. Not possible. Actually, possible, but they wouldn’t do it. Something about the paradise roll going with the platter already. So if they make the rolls fresh, it really shouldn’t be an issue to swap it out. The yellowtail sushi also was weirdly chewy. I’ve never had that happen before so I question the quality. The service was fine, but I doubt we will be back. There are a lot of other places that are much better for...

More fresh fish rolls than other local places. (Especially since Sushi Nini is closed for repairs.) There are a few Korean specialties on the menu, like Hwa Dop Bop. It's an intimate space & good for when you don't want to deal with the crowds at hibachi places. Negatives: -They use way too much rice. They aren't ayce, so they're just filling people up on rice & keeping customers from ordering more. At the end of my meal (4 nigiri & 2 rolls), I had more than a half cup of rice pushed to the side. -75% of the time on their menu, they call escolar "white tuna". Escolar is nicknamed the exlax fish. It's toxic in generous portions & still causes discomfort in small amounts. There are many countries that don't allow it to be consumed & it's important that it's labeled correctly.

For this week's local restaurant adventure, we visited Sushi Ocean for lunch. The place is small but has cozy feeling where the tables are placed close to each other but not too crowded. I ordered lunch combo L4 which is Spicy Pork Bento box. In the box, in addition to Spicy Pork and steamed white rice, the combo also came with Miso soup, small house salad, 2 pcs of pork gyoza (pot stickers), RM620 rolls (3 pcs), California rolls (2 pcs) and 2 pcs of Chef's choice Nigri which were Shrimp and Tuna. The food had good taste, the portions was fair for the price and the service was very friendly. This might not be an everyday place to eat but definitely an excellent choice for a biweekly or monthly treat.
