Tacos La Catrina — Restaurant in Round Rock

WOW. I am beyond blown away. Went out on a limb and tried something new and I can tell you that I was in no way disappointed.

My vegetarian wife got the cheese quesadilla which she found savory, delicious, and oh so cheesy. It was a perfect portion for her, leaving her satiated yet still wanting one more bite.

I ordered the quesa Birria tacos and was slapped in the face with an explosion of flavors upon my first bite. I'm typically on the pickier side, but the photos of these tacos looked so dang enticing. The photos didn't do them justice. Crispy, gooey mozzarella with melt in your mouth beef all fried in a corn tortilla. The soup for dipping took everything to a whole other universe.

I've lived all over Greater Austin area for the last 15 years. This is easily the best taco I've had in this town. Period. Full stop.

Props and kudos to the owners! I'm looking forward to ordering here...

Edit** changing to 5 stars. Wendy reached out and offered to make it up to us. She catered our company lunch with no problems. Everyone was super happy with their food and asked where they were located. I was very impressed that she took initiative to make things right. Thank you Wendy for your outstanding service, much appreciated!

hate to do this, especially because I haven't tried their food but I'm extremely disappointed in their customer service. Long story short I booked them for 100 people lunch. Day of lunch, I had to call several times for their ETA. Food truck was supposed to be here at 1130am, got a text at noon cancelling bc they were unable to come out due to other food trucks blocking. I had to scramble to feed 100 people in an hour. They could have given more notice or given updates about the matter. Very unprofessional and unfortunately we will not be using them...

This place is a hidden gem. They only have tacos & quesadillas and everything is delicious! I think the best aspect of the their food is that it tastes amazing but it doesn’t feel overly greasy and heavy. I think that’s hard to find with birria but they accomplish it. My favorite meat here is their brisket, it’s slow cooked to perfection & has a juicy & smoky flavor. I also love that they have Mexican coke & lots of Jarrito flavors. The only tiny con is that the prices seem a bit high for the size of the tacos, but I think it’s 100% worth it for the taste & amount of work this truck does to make the whole experience positive.
