I've been to this place a few times now and I'd say, overall I love the restaurant and will continue going in the foreseeable future.
To start off, all the food is absolutely delicious! My favorite things are the quail and fajitas- especially the beef and shrimp fajitas. The chicken is good flavor-wise, but it's a bit dry. The beef is absolutely stellar- it's tender, juicy, amazingly flavorful, and isn't covered in fatty chunks that I despise. I had shrimp fajitas for the first time and I was so surprised at how delicious the shrimp was! I've been so underwhelmed by shrimp in the past at mexican restaurants that I wasn't expecting much out of the shrimp here, and was pleasantly surprised. I've had a few other things as well, which was all good, but I want to note that the fish in the fish tacos, while delicious, was a bit dry like the chicken was, so hopefully that could be changed in the future because I really love good fish tacos!
Something a little more hit-or-miss seems to be the service though. For the most part, it's very friendly, though some servers can be almost quiet or shy? However, the service can be quite slow to even nonexistent- even during slower times of the day. I'm happy to note that all servers I've had so far are very responsive when we request something, but I'd really like if they actually come around more to check in with my table so we aren't sitting and waiting to make said request. I'm not sure what the servers are taught as far as timing between rounds goes, but I feel like aiming for something like 3-5 minutes for when a table has menus and 5-10 for when they actually have food might be good? I think the worst is whenever the bill is left though; I think servers should be a lot more on the ball about leaving the bill, picking it back up, and returning so guests can actually leave ;)
Also, while I haven't gone through the drive-thru yet, I just wanted to throw in a comment that I feel a place like this doesn't seem like the best place to have a drive-thru. Most drive-thrus are for fast food places- not full-on restaurants. People would expect something like McDonald's or Taco Bell as far as the quickness of the drive-thru. What I feel would fit more would just be a designated "to-go" area like I see most restaurants (Tarka, Applebee's, Chili's, etc) have. Unfortunately it still means the customer probably has to go inside, but still, that's just my thoughts on the matter. I feel the drive-thru may be part of the problem with service seeming slow/non-existent sometimes, because the servers focus more on handling that than the table they're serving.
But again, overall, I am quite happy with the restaurant and plan on returning. I've recommended it to friends and family and they share in these opinions: food is phenomenal, service is okay but could use more work.
Also, as a side note, I just wanted to say I really love the music and atmosphere of the place. It's lovely...
Read moreOn our recent visit to a local sit-down Mexican restaurant, we were treated to a memorable five-star dining experience. The highlight of our evening was undoubtedly our server, Antonio, whose attention to detail and dedication to his craft elevated our meal to new heights.
As a family who appreciates the art of cooking, we often find that the service and experience of dining out trumps the food itself. Our orders can sometimes be intricate, and many servers struggle to get every detail just right. However, Antonio exceeded our expectations, catering to each of our requests with precision and a genuine desire to please.
When I asked for a draft beer dressed with salt and four limes, Antonio made sure it arrived exactly as requested. He even remembered to bring extra tortillas with our meal, a detail often overlooked by other servers. It was refreshing to see such dedication in the service industry, and Antonio's efforts did not go unnoticed.
As for the food, I was craving something indulgent and opted for a shrimp burrito with added steak. Antonio was happy to accommodate my request, even though it required some creativity in the kitchen. The result was a massive, mouth-watering burrito that left me more than satisfied. My wife and kids also thoroughly enjoyed their dishes, making the evening a culinary success.
The restaurant's menu was extensive, offering an impressive range of options to suit any palate. However, the sheer number of choices combined with a lack of accompanying images could be a bit overwhelming for some diners. A few more photographs would be a welcome addition, helping to guide patrons through the vast selection of delicious dishes.
Antonio's attentive service was a constant throughout the evening, as he checked on us frequently and ensured that our every need was met. His passion for his job shone through in every interaction, making our dining experience truly exceptional. It's rare to find such dedication in the service industry these days, and Antonio's efforts have certainly earned our loyalty.
In conclusion, our visit to this Mexican restaurant was an absolute delight, marked by exceptional service, mouth-watering food, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We're thrilled to have rediscovered this gem, and we'll undoubtedly be returning in the future for more memorable dining...
Read moreThe guy who didn’t open the window right away to take my order was extremely rude. I saw him standing behind the tinted window. I saw his shadow/figure. So why he was delaying opening the drive-through-window? Mind you, there was no one behind me. And there was no one in front of me for good 10 minutes. What was he doing standing behind the window and faced to me? I said … hey I see you. He still didn’t open. I had questions about my food. When he finally opened the door, I looked at my rear view, there was still no car coming behind me. I asked him questions about the menu too. His response was ok … ok. I thought he probably didn’t understand English. I asked in spanish, again his response was ok. I had questions, I said. He still didn’t say anything. I asked him why giving me blank stare and was being rude from the start. I asked him for the manager. He said he is a manager. I told him with that behavior, I doubt he is a manager. And even he was, he still has someone above him. Then he shut the window at me. I was still at the window, and no car was behind me still. I waited for a moment. He was still behind the window. What a disrespectful young staff. I went inside to speak with the manager. It was a sweet lady. She listened and apologized. I was looking at that young guy and asked him why he had to behave that way. He laughed and smirk at me. He didn’t apologize and no remorse. Then he was looking his phone. Because of that female manager, I still ordered worth of $65. I wanted that young guy to face the consequences by his upper level manager/owner. I wouldn’t want anyone else to be treated that way. It is a nice restaurant and thought the staff should take their pride in their work environment. There was 3-4 waiters stand by. And there was still no car at the window. He just looked at the phone and...
