Dalton's Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Roxboro

I visited this bar last night and it was completely slammed. 2 people were working behind the bar, a young lady a middle aged man with glasses. I try to flag the man who seemed to be ignoring customers. Finally I got his attention and said that I wanted a drink and the guy beside me as well wanted one. He seems to hear us and walks away. 5-10 min goes by and i see him at the other end of the bar washing dishes instead of making the drinks. He comes back to the end of the bar I am at as well as 3 other paying customers waiting to either place or receive orders and I ask him about the drinks. He said that he is only washing dishes and that we have to order from the young lady and walks away. Why did he not say this before? Finally I flag the young lady and tell her my order, that the fellow beside me wanted the same thing and that there were 2 other people to my left waiting to place an order. Mind you we had waited at least 10-15 min if not more and had been discussing amongst ourselves the poor service. The young lady was quick to get us all our orders and was very nice. She seemed overwhelmed and it is not her fault that this other man was not helping her at all. She should receive a raise beyond what she is making to have to handle such working conditions. Additionally, there were 2 large dogs (german shephard and pitbull) running loose through the bar, tripping guests and barking. At one point they seemed to be fighting and had to be separated. I saw several guests that seemed visibly frightened by these dogs. All in all I would not recommend this place based on the service and obvious hazard of large dogs running rampant through the bar unchecked. The german shephard was also behind the bar at one point which is probably a health code violation. I later found out that the middle aged man with glasses is the owner of the establishment. So I would think that he would take a bit more pride in the treatment of...

Drinks are really really expensive especially for the atmosphere and quality of the clients. The bartender tried to charge me for extra drinks by allowing me to pay for the first then not taking my money for the second, then when I ordered the 3rd and tried to leave she tried to charge me for 3 drinks. DO NOT TRUST RUNNING A TAB HERE. I don't recommend going here late at night. I have seen quite a few fights. The management must not care because they keep letting the trouble makers back in. This is not the place to grab a drink and have enlightening conversation with the locals at all. Also I am never really sure when they are open. They seem to just open and close when they want to. We went for food bc it’s advertised as a bar and grill, no food was offered after a certain time apparently. We didn’t stay long it took a while just to get a beer. I’m not sure how this place isn’t a fire hazard. We went and could barely get out there were so many people! There were several trying to fight. Two big dogs running through the crowds. And they charge $5.99 just to use a card, but don’t tell you! So basically $9 a beer!!!...
